Deion Sanders' tough love: Will it make or break the Colorado Buffs against UCF?

Deion Sanders isn’t going to settle for complacent players who have no room for improvement. Despite the win that came in their last 38-31 OT win against Baylor, he isn’t sitting back and enjoying the spotlight going 3-1 into the season. He knows that the Buffs have gaps to fill and he doesn’t mind doing it the hard way.

Ahead of the UCF matchup on September 29, Deion Sanders gathered the Buffs for a brief pep talk as filmed by Well Off Media on YouTube. And he warned them, “When some things like that happen, change is gonna be made. So don’t be sad, don’t be hurt, don’t have your feelings. But if you’re not giving the effort, you will not play because we got so many guys right here that want to play.”

Deion Sanders first called out the lack of players’ efforts during practices, which ultimately led to them not being able to make plays they could’ve, had they practiced better. He also called out some of them to step up their game by preparing like a pro. And if they don’t show their eagerness and passion for the game, they’re going to be replaced.

This move isn’t something new for the Buffs’ HC, who broke the internet when he came from Jackson State with his own luggage. All he cares about is the W and even if drastic measures need to be implemented, he’s going to do it. After all, he labeled this season as a season of expectations and they still have a lot to prove, starting with their next game against their second Big 12 opponent of the season.

Deion Sanders and Colorado get ready for another Big 12 showdown

There is still one week until the UCF matchup. Deion Sanders and the Buffs will get on the road to meet their next conference opponent at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando on September 28. The Knights are the first in the Big 12, with a pristine 3-0 dominating their first two games.

Ahead of the game, UCF is a 14-point favorite per BetMGM Sportsbook. This season, the Knights’ offense ranks third in the FBS with 570.7 yards per game in contrast to the Buffs’ 403.8 yards per game ranking 64th. UCF is also the top in the rushing game with 375.7 rushing yards per game compared to Colorado’s 68.8 RYPG. Still, the Buffs’ passing game ranks 5th with 335.0 passing yards per game. But the real hype will show on the field when these two teams meet for a Big 12 battle.
