Right after OG coach Jim Harbaugh left the program for the Los Angeles Chargers, the Michigan Wolverines melted like Swiss cheese. Fans had high hopes for the first-year head coach, Sherrone Moore, but he didn’t live up to that hype. Some of them are even saying that it’s not Moore’s fault; it’s because of an okayish team he got for the 2024 season. While looking at the quarterback issues Moore faced all season, it seems they’re right. Now a college football expert made some insane comments on quarterback Davis Warren and one of his receivers.
Currently, Michigan is moving towards one of its toughest tests of the season, and their offense is anything but perfect. Meanwhile, on the latest episode of the number one college football show, analyst R. J. Young pointed out major flaws in Davis Warren’s game, saying, “They’re going to start a quarterback in Davis Warren who has thrown more interceptions than he has TDs. They don’t particularly throw the ball well, to begin with. And Colston Loveland was the only bright spot on that team catching passes. Yeah, 56 catches for 582 yards going into this thing with five TDs.”
Remember when the 2024 season was about to start? There was a lot of buzz surrounding the starting quarterback position. However, when Warren took the starting job, ditching the offseason favorite Alex Orji, there was a lot on his shoulders. But when he poorly struggled to throw to his receivers, his flaws were visible in a game against Fresno State, and the turnover issue got more intense with each game afterward. So much so that Moore had to take Alex Orji back for this position.

To make matters even trickier, Moore is also without Colston Loveland has been a big part of Michigan’s offense, while his injury gives major momentum to Ohio’s win in their next game. However, there’s a thing Ohio State is not worrying about: whether Loveland will play the game or not, the Buckeyes are going to dominate the field. That’s Ohio State we’re talking about. They don’t think too much about who’s gonna be from Michigan’s side.
“I don’t think it’s gonna matter to Ohio State one bit. As long as they put 11 dudes on the field, Ohio State doesn’t give a damn. It’s like well, because we got this dude, Roman Wilson, out here, he’s pretty good too… Say nothing of this other dude, Donovan Edwards; you ain’t really showing up all that much,” pointed out RJ Young. The big question is whether the Wolverines can pull themselves together when they need it.
Despite their three-game winning streak against Ohio, they are not in their original form this year. Meanwhile, what’s the update on Loveland’s injury?

Will Sherrone Moore and the squad be playing against Ohio State without Colston Loveland?
Given the current scenario, it looks like the Wolverines may enter their upcoming game against Ohio State without one of the top guys, TE Colston Loveland. Now ESPN analyst Pete Thamel has given updates on it, saying there’s “increasing pessimism” about Loveland joining his squad as he’s still recovering from an injury during the game against Northwestern.
On top of that, when Sherrone Moore said that Loveland was “trending in a good direction,” there’s still no clarity about his return. Believe it or not, if Loveland is out for this game, it’s going to cost a lot to the Wolverines. Meanwhile, Ohio State is entering this game holding a cool 11-1 and sitting on the 2nd rank, while Michigan’s season is long over with a 6-5 record.

However, this game is much more about the season for both teams. Given their strong rivalry roots, it’s a do or die situation for them. However, Moore is still not sweating the rivalry, saying, “It’s fun. It’s everything you wanted it to be. It’s an exciting time for us to be in.” With that, all eyes will be on Columbus to see who wins this ultimate battle of supremacy.
