The Hoosiers offense comes out on top. Going into this game, there was a lot of weight on Matt Rhule and Co. Indiana shouldn’t have been a problem for a team with one of the country’s best defensive lines. But here we are. With 56-7 plastered on the scoreboard, Curt Cignetti and Co. blew Matt Rhule out of the water. From the start till the end, the Hoosiers showed pure domination on that turf and maintained their zero-loss run. But was it possible for Rhule to avoid this disaster?

Well, it was. Back on X, Sam McKewon shared a post detailing what Matt Rhule had to say about the thrashing. “Everything should be pointed right at me,” Rhule had mentioned. Maybe Rhule had overestimated his boys; the Huskers’ defense was tragic during the entire game. Failing to bring proper tackles in time and stopping the run from the Hoosiers RB. If we check the stats, Cignetti and Co. had full command of that turf. With 215 rush yards under their belt, they buzzed through the No.6 top-ranked defense in the country.

We had pointed it out a few days back. If you let Hoosiers RBs Ty Son LawtonJustice Ellison, and Kaelon Black have full freedom on that turf then you ain’t gonna last till the end. This came back to bite Rhule as Lawton and Ellison showed pure dominance in the 1st and 2nd quarters. The momentum was then carried forward by Elijah Sarrat going into the 3rd and 4th quarters of the game.

This entire thing was sad. Any Huskers fan would know that Rhule and what he has done with the team is capable of doing much more. The worst part was the fact that QB Dylan Raiola had barely any room to make plays. The only touchdown Rhule and Co. brought in was in the 2nd quarter and was a 7-yard TD run by Jacory Barney Jr.

Going into this game, Raiola’s biggest fear came true. Fox insider Brady Quinn had pointed out that Raiola is gonna have to carry an immense expectation on his shoulders. Being the true freshman for Rhule and the Huskers, Raiola had shown a he-k lot of promise However, here we are now. But credit where credit is due, this was one of the hardest games on Cignetti’s schedule, and boy, oh boy, did he and his team nail it.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Matt Rhule solely to blame for the Huskers' embarrassing defeat against the Hoosiers?

A fire has been ignited by Indiana Hoosiers

At this point, give them the crown of the best team in CFB. Hoosiers QB Kurtis Rourke was impeccable. 17 passes landed out of 21 attempts and followed that with 189 yards with 1 touchdown under his belt. While the hand injury did push him of course, he left quite the impact in the first half.

The Hoosiers’ defense was A+. See, you gotta understand this, in terms of defense; yes, the Huskers are one of the best, but if Curt wanted to win this one, his main target should’ve been Raiola. Well, the Hoosiers defense effortlessly managed to hone in toward Raiola and even picked him off thrice during the game. The pass rush game employed by IU completely obliterated the freshman QB. Standing on 7-0, we cannot wait to see what Cignetti and Co. will manage to get done next.
