It is over. 80 losses? Make that 81 folks, and it still marked the longest losing streak in CFB. Boy, oh boy, did Curt Cignetti and Co. get blown out of the water. See, Indiana was on a run that just couldn’t be stopped. Nebraska tried and failed and the only team that got even remotely close to closing down the 9-win streak for Curt Cignetti was Michigan. But, they ended up giving Cigentti his 10th win of the season with a 20-15 run. Standing on the 5th spot on the CFP list, it kind of felt like they are getting an easy ticket into the semi-finals. However, what happens when you finally place this Hoosiers team against one that has a pulse?
A 38-15 blowout loss. Back on X, Fox College Football shared what Cignetti had to say about this game, and it looks like the HC was completely done. “Well, in life, all good things come to an end eventually,” Cignetti mentioned. Ohio State dominated the entire game. It was clear from the first 2 touchdowns that Ryan Day‘s roster managed to land that this W is going into the Buckeyes’ lap.

Throughout the entire showdown, Hoosiers barely got possession of the football and when they did, Buckeyes’ elite D-line curbed it down. Cignetti and Co. managed to cover only 151 yards in this game, and QB Kurtis Rourke was sacked 4 times.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the dude got barely 44% in completion with 8 completed passes out of 18. No touchdowns, and only 68 yards covered. This was wild. This whole game was a picture-perfect recreation of what would happen if Han Solo ever tried to 1v1 Darth Vader.
And you gotta hand it to Will Howard, man. This dude was locked in. Got in 2 touchdowns with 22 out of 26 pass completions and 201 yards under his belt. While he did throw 1 interception, that wasn’t enough to stain the legacy. Give this dude a Heisman nomination for real. Regardless, the outcome is clear. Hoosiers are probably off the playoff list, but there is still one chance they can crack it.

One team’s loss is Hoosiers’ gain
What’s your perspective on:
Did Indiana's loss to Ohio State expose their weaknesses, or was it just a bad day?
Have an interesting take?
Okay, this might sound looney or like a weird theory, but Ole Miss losing to the Gators is good news for Hoosiers. See, Lane Kiffin and Co. had gained quite the momentum after their blowout 28-10 win against Georgia. This got them the 9th spot on the CFP list.
With this loss, though, they are pretty much out of the playoffs. See, they got a 4% chance at cracking the CFP if they lost against the Gators and the worse has happened. Cignetti and Co. were on the 5th, and with this loss, they could easily be pushed out of the top 10.

Now that Ole Miss is out, Hoosiers could claim the 10th spot. This will still keep them in the playoff run where they could inevitably lose to a big SEC powerhouse or something. Still a theory, but up to a certain extent, it makes sense.
