Did Deion Sanders just expose Gus Malzahn's coaching flaws, or was it just a bad day for UCF?

Days before their face-off on September 28, UCF Knights HC Gus Malzahn was all excited as he stated, “a big game for us being at home” and “real excited for our fanbase.” But poor Malzahn! Hardly, did he expect that Deion Sanders and his army would be the villains of his picture-perfect plan? Losing to the Buffs that too at home definitely has left the UCF fans questioning their choices. They say staying calm makes you the winner even in the most adverse situations. And Colorado had proved it again. But the Buffs were able to ace the zen vibes only because of their HC Deion Sanders. Earlier too, Coach Prime has taken the rain forecast lightly before their Baylor face-off to keep their spirits high. So much so, he even dropped the local meteorologist on his blacklist!

The 48-21 loss to the Buffs is something Malzahn and the Knights are going to remember for a long time. But at present, the UCF HC is not falling prey to any bad juju. Instead, right after the game ended, he took the stage to sing the Buffs’ praise. He didn’t run away from accepting the fact that Deion’s army had dominated them throughout, “First of all congratulations to Colorado. They outplayed us they outcoached us…they’re a good team.”

More than his players, Malzahn’s heart broke for the UCF fans. After all, not even Hurricane Helene could stop them from rolling up to the stadium to root for the Knights. “I’m real disappointed for our fans uh man they they brought it today with everything,” shared the HC. This has been the biggest face loss for UCF. Well, it was Malzahn who was responsible for hyping them up with his pre-game pep talk as he claimed, “We talked about seize the moment. We didn’t get it done.” The “we didn’t get it done” list does not end here.

The HC then continued to address the main problem that snatched their ground while facing Deion’s Buffs. Failing to be poised amidst pandemonium. Malzahn just didn’t sweep this topic under the table instead addressed it openly, “I just told our team that the game of football in life you learn most about yourself in major adversity and we didn’t get it done.” For this, the Knights must know whom to look up to. And that’s Deion!

Deion Sanders’ optimistic look amidst weather woes

The Buffs had an important matchup lined up on September 21. Well, Deion Sanders and Co. were on a mission to end the 14-year hiatus against the Baylor Bears. Just like Saturday’s game, there was also a rain forecast. And as expected some people tried to break his morales. During the pre-game press conference, a journalist hit him up with the weather updates. Was Deion bothered? Not at all!

Instead, he went straight away with his questions, “We got rain? What forecast you got? Who do you use?” To which the reporter informed that it’s the local meteorologist whose updates he follows. Deion being Deion then unleashed his sarcastic side and tagged the report as a “joke.” He just didn’t want his players to get upset about a random meteorologist’s weather updates. Instead, he went on manifesting, “I’m one of those good weather man. When you say 60% I say 40% that it won’t.”

Have an interesting take?

And guess what? Deion Sanders was wrong. It did rain during the game. But Coach Prime’s got nerves of steel. He stayed cool as a cucumber even before the chaos began. Eventually, his Colorado Buffs absolutely crushed Baylor in a historic 38-31 victory. The Bears now know which legend holds the secret to not losing it when the world’s crumbling.
