Get in line, you have to pass the 6-foot height check to get into the NFL!! The draft is here, and while some out there are getting worried about their stats; the case is rather weird for Oregon Ducks—the proverbial Kings of college football, yet not the betting favorites for the OSU game. It kind of stings, but what hurts more is the “grim” NFL’s future. See, Dan Lanning has done something massive this year. They picked up Dillion Grabriel from the Sooners and the Ducks just started flying away. 13th in the entire FBS for total offense AND scoring offense. All of this is done on the back of a 5’11 dude landing dimes, blowing past the defense like Wolverine ripping apart bad guys with his claws.
So then why on earth is the height still the problem? Broshmo has an answer!! “However, with him being short, you’re gonna worry about maybe some of the difficulties of him seeing the middle of the field,” Broshmo pointed out. Are we bashing the dude cause he is short? On the paper, Gabriel’s height might be pointed out as 6′ but he ain’t that. Now, this makes the NFL situation a tad bit complicated. See, we are all in for “Short King” support, but what on earth are you going to do against a defensive line that’s gonna be 6’5 to 6’6 on average? What’re you gonna do? Throw while standing on a stool?

See, history is the best teacher. So, for height and NFL quarterbacks, what has history taught us? Being a short king isn’t too bad. Like, for the record, Eddie LeBaron went to the Pro Bowl 4 times. Do you have any idea how short he was? 5’7. People used to call him “Little General”!!
And Doug Flutie? Started the “Flutie effect” with his win over Miami back in 1984, then went on to become a 38-28 starter record holder in the NFL. All of this while being almost the same height as Gabriel!!
And has Gabriel not outperformed tall defensive linemen before? How on earth do you explain the Ducks’ undefeated run? Yeah, we get it. The NFL is gonna have bigger guys, but so did almost every single team the Ducks played against. OSU has Jack Sawyer, and Gabriel easily managed to kite past that 6’5″ dude. It’s not the height, Broshmo. It’s the skill. You might argue that short kings being successful in the NFL is like a “once in a lifetime” kinda deal, but it happens!?
But how well will all of this translate when the $6 billion NFL side comes calling? Cause at the end of the day Gabriel ain’t Logan, right?

Okay, so Brock Purdy. Over 3400 yards with 17 TDs and 10 picks. Still, the 49ers are 6-9 (nice) and out of playoff berth. So then, why are we even talking about him? Money. See, Purdy is taking the Dak Prescott route and has slam-dunked on the 49ers with a $60 million (per year) demand.
Now, we are pretty sure San Francisco ain’t as crazy as the Cowboys. Plus, they were out here paying Purdy a million (because he was the last overall pick in 2022), so who in their right mind would want to go and pay 60 times that value?
So this is exactly where Gabriel comes in. The 49ers have the 11th position on the NFL draft order, and Gabriel, being a certified 4-5th QB pick, could (possibly) end up with the Reds. Now, will the height be a problem? See, we have already seen this dude elevate the Oregon offense with his plays.

Personally, if he gets the perfect OC, then he can do whatever the h-ll he wants in the gridiron. Just look at him and Ducks OC Will Stein slaying everyone.
