Could Diego Pavia have outshined Shedeur Sanders if given a chance under Coach Prime?

If Vandy has given the people anything other than the massive win over Bama, then it has to be a solid QB. See, Diego Pavia came out of nowhere. This dude was pure magic against the Crimson Tide and managed to grab two touchdowns and cover around 252 yards. Another massive surprise game was definitely against the Longhorns. You ever thought that an unranked team would manage to go head-to-head against Steve Sarkisian and his million-dollar roster? Diego Pavia managed to hit a 24-27 final against the Longhorns, and they would’ve won that showdown if Texas hadn’t landed those 3 touchdowns in the first half. But tell us this, you ever wondered how Diego Pavia would’ve been performing if he was playing under Coach Prime?

Yeah, you can say the idea sounds dumb, but it almost happened, and now, on the Man to Man Podcast, Pavia exposes what went down back at Jackson State. “He told me straight up too like Hey, my son’s gonna be the quarterback. Um, are you looking to be a backup? Basically. So I was like nah,” Pavia mentioned. It’s a known fact that Deion Sanders will always push Shedeur Sanders to be the starting quarterback. Shedeur is his son, after all. However, here is the thing: taking Pavia as a backup quarterback makes little to no sense.

While you can argue that Shedeur is leagues better, you must admit that Shedeur can never lead the Buffs against a win over the Crimson Tide. Although Vandy is on a 6-4 run and the Buffs are on 8-2, that one major win against a ranked team adds a lot of spice to Pavia’s resume.

However, it does look like there is no bad blood between Sanders and Pavia. Back in October, we covered how Deion Sadners Jr. took to X to praise the quarterback over the massive Bama win and also mention howHe was also supposed to come to Jackson State.

With Jackson State out of the conversation, Pavia went straight to New Mexico to play under Jerry Kill. And well, while his connection with Kill was amazing, what followed after that New Mexico era is nothing less than a big disaster, and no, we are not talking about Pavia’s skill or career or his run with Vandy. This is something connected to the NCAA.

NCAA drama time for Diego Pavia

See, Pavia played for New Mexico from 2022 to 2023. When Kill announced his retirement, Pavia hit the transfer portal and headed over to Vandy. Now, you might be wondering what disaster we mentioned before. Earlier this month, Pavia sued the NCAA.

What’s your perspective on:

Could Diego Pavia have outshined Shedeur Sanders if given a chance under Coach Prime?

Have an interesting take?

And boy, oh boy, did this to take the internet by storm. The basis of the lawsuit was straightforward: NCAA bylaws reduced the total seasons a junior CFB player can play at a Division I school. As per the lawsuit, Pavia claimed that this was unlawful, and it hindered how students could make use of NIL deals.

If you check the timeline, Pavia was first with the New Mexico Military for 2 seasons and then with the New Mexico Aggies for 2022-2023. From there, it was Vandy with only 1 season of eligibility left under his belt. The entire lawsuit points out that the NCAA calculates a player’s eligibility from the moment they enter a 2-year school (Despite them not playing) and notes that this harms the overall career of the said player.

What will be the final result of this lawsuit? Well, the NCAA’s track record in court is worse than what the Carolina Panthers have managed to do on the turf. So, that does give you a fair idea.
