Okay, so Mel Kiper managed to start quite the drama after he revealed his 2025 NFL draft list back on Thursday. Why? Well, for Kiper, Shedeur Sanders was QB1 and Cam Ward was QB2. This is a wild claim. See, Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes are on a wild run this season. Nothing has been able to stop the momentum of the team and they have easily managed to secure 9 Ws. Now, yes, the Bears and the Virginia Tech games were close calls, but Cam Ward proved that he has what it takes to bring his team back from the edge. From a pure stats perspective, Ward has the upper hand, but from style points? Well, Shedeur takes the cake.
This entire list has started a battle, and people have begun taking sides. And back on YouTube, we spotted NFC siding with Ward. On Giants Now by Chat Sports, the host made it clear that Ward is in fact QB1 and the best fit for the Giants. “Everything I’m about to tell you, it’s going to sound like former number one prospects,” the host mentioned. The first reason that they pointed out was the “Big-time throws”. 9 games in, this guy has a completion rate of 67.1%. In total, Ward has attempted 322 passes and managed to connect 216. This is big. More so because out of the 216, 77 were long passes that this guy has landed accurately, and converted some into touchdowns. “There is not a throw that this guy cannot make; he can touch every blade of grass and he elevates an offense because of his arm talent,” the host pointed out.

Another aspect you gotta keep in mind is how Ward has managed to change the entire culture around the Hurricanes’ offense. “I love what he has intangibly, and that is he is an alpha, he is a culture changer, and most importantly, he is a dog,” the host pointed out. See, last year, Cristobal and Co. were standing on a 7 win 5 loss season. They couldn’t even secure the Bowl game against Rutgers. And if we talk about stats, then the team was averaging 40 points in almost all their games.
This year, however, Ward has switched up his game, and he now leads one of the highest-scoring offenses on the list. See, a 40-point average ain’t a small deal, but Ward has managed to change it to an average of 50 points per game. Every single showdown has been a pure spectacle. And if we are bringing Shedeur Sanders into the discussion, then he still has a long way to go if he wants to crack the same feat, but you also have to admit that he has done some miracles for the Buffs this season.
From pushing into overtime with that Hail Mary against Baylor to standing tall against Arizona Wildcats and keeping the boys in the game despite losing Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr. The entire debate regarding who makes the perfect QB1 is a tough one. However, something that we can say for sure is that the push to get Ward on the Giants makes perfect sense.

Like it or not, the Daniel Jones era is over. And what this means is Brian Daboll will finally get a shot at bringing in the new “it” factor for the Giants. What you have to keep in mind here is that Daboll is good when it comes to forming an offense that relies on and takes advantage of deep and intermediate throws.
And here is where Ward comes in. The dude has nailed almost every deep pass with solid accuracy. Daboll can formulate a scheme around Ward’s accuracy and finally bring back the energy that has been lacking from the Giants’ offense for a long time.

Draft analyst Chris Pflum also had the same views. “There are other players with more impressive tools, but nobody is playing better right now. And frankly, Ward is an absolute blast to watch,” Pflum had mentioned. When it comes to making plays from the pocket, the previous king used to be Bulldogs Carson Beck, but now, Ward is the guy you go to. He has not failed Cristobal and also has managed to turn around games the Hurricanes were about to lose. One thing is for sure, we cannot wait to see how the 2025 draft picks unfold. Do let us know if you think Ward is the perfect guy to bring the Giants back on the table?
