Shannon Sharpe vs. Coach Prime—who's the real king of football banter?

Younghoe Koo! The star of the game who led the Atlanta Falcons to a 26-24 victory over the New Orleans Saints! Still, not everyone is comfortable calling this South Korean player’s name out loud. Take the instance from what happened during a discussion on Nightclub with Shannon Sharpe and Ocho where Deion Sanders joined in.

As soon as Shannon Sharpe called out “Younghoe Koo,” both Deion Sanders and Chad Johnson sat up straight with confusion like “what’s his name?” Shannon Sharpe, lost for words, then changed his pronunciation to “Young-wey.” But Deiondra is on her Instagram story laughing at the trio as she shared an excerpt from their conversation on October 1. She wrote, “That is his name tho!”

Younghoe Koo grabbed the spotlight in the last game against the Saints when he recorded a career-best 59-yard field goal with just two seconds before the game wrapped up. He recorded four field goals in total (53, 44, and 42 yards) to lead the 2-2 Falcons in a lucky home victory.

This isn’t the only game where Koo shone. Usually a late game hero, his last field goal marked the eighth game-winning kick in the last 10 seconds since 2021. He later said, “We’ve been in that situation a lot and you know that’s how it is in this league. A lot of the games, the majority of the games in this league, comes out to a one-possession game. Every point matters and our unit takes a lot of pride in that.” Of all people, Deion Sanders understands the last part of the sentence better than anybody as his team played one of the most complete games in their last clash with UCF.

Deion Sanders’ pride for Colorado soars after last UCF win

After Colorado triumphed over UCF, proud Deion Sanders labeled it as “a wonderful game.” The Buffs entered the game as a 14-point underdog only to deliver a 48-21 upset to the Knights. After praising UCF coach Gus Malzahn’s impact on college football, Deion Sanders voiced his pride for the Buffs saying, “Football wise, it’s one of the first times that we came out and played a collective game offensively, defensively as well as special teams.”

Colorado recorded 418 total yards in their last clash with the Knights. On the rushing game, they racked up 29 rushes for 128 yards and entertained just one turnover. “That’s what we want,” Deion Sanders said. “We want that kind of balance. We deserve that kind of balance and I know these guys can do it, and I believe in them wholeheartedly.” After dominating their Big 12 opponent, Colorado now heads further into the season with a 4-1 record as they seek to improve their record from last year’s 4-8 with a victory in the upcoming game against Kansas State
