Woah, what a game! The Colorado Buffaloes crushed the Oklahoma State Cowboys to mere specks of dust in their 52-0 feat. If you think that’s enough for you to go happy dancing, hold on, folks! Your favorite Deion Sanders spilled some exciting news that is coming your way. Well, the bitter memory of the 2024 transfer season must be still fresh, right? Definitely, it has to be after the long episode of the Cormani McClain drama. But not to worry, Deion is going to make this portal different. Yes, the Buffs HC is all excited about reeling in new talent, but do you know he will still keep his door open for someone old?

Things are going to be tough for Deion after this season. After all, he will now have to let go of his son Shedeur Sanders and dual-threat Travis Hunter to the NFL. That man will now have to return to an empty home. But it looks like Deion has already started to put his scouting glasses on. Last season might have lifted his spirits. Yes, there have been some lows; for instance, the great McClain episode where Deion lost the player’s trust who went looking for a ‘real’ program. But in the end, he made the most use of it and landed eight 4-star transfers through the portal last offseason. So on Tuesday, November 26, Coach Prime looked all charged up for his next goal. A journalist asked, “You haven’t got as many touchbacks as you wanted this season?” To which Deion assured, “We’ve handled that; we will have touchbacks next year, I promise you.”

And what’s the best way to work on the promise other than diving into the portal and finding the best of the best talents? So you know that this offseason is going to be a party for the Buffs when Coach Prime has his eyes set on the target. “You know we gonna hit that portal like it hadn’t been hit before. You know that. That’s what we do. .. We know everything we want. We know what we’re going to get … We’re going to do some good things,” he said. Now how could Deion be so confident? Well, Colorado is already reaping the fruits of their efforts.

Deion Sanders struggles with letting go of the present

Already the class of 2025 looks bomb! All thanks to Deion and the Colorado Buffaloes’ tireless efforts and the blood, sweat, and tears that went into wooing ESPN’s 5-star quarterback recruit Julian Lewis. Finally, their favorite JuJu is here in Boulder after flipping his commitment from USC Trojans. However, no matter who they recruit, Deion’s heart will still ache for those he will have to leave this season.

After all, allowing your kids to fly higher comes with a price! For now, more than his son Shedeur, the Buffs HC is worried about his dual threat. Maybe deep down he knows Hunter will have to accommodate in the NFL, where his two-way dreams will be stunted. After all, there is no better home than Boulder. However, there is nothing to worry much about since he has a Plan B ready for Hunter.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Deion Sanders' bold portal strategy keep the Buffaloes on top without Shedeur and Hunter?

Have an interesting take?

Thinking about the worst-case scenario, Deion Sanders dropped a big hint—“You never know how the NFL acts. If that certain team don’t allow him to do what he does…you never know what he may do.” That was enough for Travis Hunter’s heart to melt as he reposted the story with the caption, “I love you man thank you @deionsanders.” Maybe, back of his mind, the two-way star also knows that the Boulder gates will always be open for him, beyond which Coach Prime will be waiting for him with open hands!
