Is Deion Sanders justified in using his family's reach to defend his team against critics?

Deion Sanders is back on the news, and for all the wrong reasons. There has been a recent trend with Deion taking up random fights with media outlets. We saw how the entire CBS reporter thing happened when Deion said during a press conference that he wouldn’t answer any of CBS’s questions. Following this, Coach Prime then went on to ban a Denver Post columnist or alleged “targeting” of Deion and his team’s reputation. The question that arises from all this is why? What exactly is the point? The Buffs aren’t showing any signs of improvement, so would targeting the media give fruitful results?

Ah, well, when has Deion ever listened? On September 11th, during a press conference ahead of the Rams and Buffs game, Coach Prime throws in some shade at the journalists. “I could get personal if I wanted to, but I choose not to because it’s not right. Think about it—just my family alone, the platform is enormous. If we really wanted to go there, we could,” Deion mentioned during the conference. The entire jab comes after the fight song debacle. Many articles noted that it was Deion Sanders who had asked the band not to play the fight song. “Whoever reported that I told the band not to play the fight song, that’s idiotic. Y’all know that’s a lie,” Coach Prime had explained previously at the same conference. Deion’s main gripe is that this type of false reporting directly affects the other people involved with the program—band members, Buffs faithful, and alumni. But let us bring up a very important point regarding all of this. Why does Deion fail to understand the presence he commands in the world of CFB?

That man is sitting on top of one of the most valued programs in the world of CFB. Yes, the 2023 season was bad, and currently, in the 2024 season, the team is suffering, but the Buffs stand at a massive $200+ million valuation. On3 Andy Staples noted this way back on July 11th. “Everybody who plays Colorado wants to kick the crap out of Colorado,” Staples had mentioned. The main reason behind it all will always be Coach Prime. The reporters are only doing their job. Threatening them won’t do anything when it is your staff, that is the problem.

Everything is wrong with Deion Sanders Buffs’

28-10. That’s how bad the Buffs lost to the Huskers. The NDSU game should’ve been the final check for Deion Sanders. Bisons exposed that Deion’s team still needs to work on their o-line and defense. We had all thought that Deion would understand, but here we are. The Huskers managed to sack Shedeur Sanders 5 times. The Buffs were on NEGATIVE rushing yards for the entire first half of the game.

What blows our minds are the random decisions the staff has been making. These players are so talented, but why run out of the shotgun? Why waste BJ Green’s speed by slanting him inside instead of outside? Moreover, why force Tyler Brown to play tackle and Kahlil Benson to play guard? Why bench Omarion Miller? Why not play Sam Okunlola and Robert Barnes more? Now, Coach Prime has even lost his safety (Shilo Sanders) because of the forearm injury. This cripples the team even more. Who knows what the Buffs are going to do against the Rams on September 15th?
