Did Deion Sanders make the right call by spotlighting Hunter and Horn over Shedeur's 100th touchdown pass?

Colorado drew the first blood in their season kickoff against North Dakota State. That game produced some incredible highlights displaying the skills of elite players like Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn Jr who accounted for four touchdowns in the game.

In the third quarter, with Colorado leading 24-20 over NDSU in their season opener, Shedeur Sanders accomplished a milestone in his football career. He skillfully converted a 13-yard pass to Travis Hunter to secure the 100th career touchdown. But Deion Sanders chose to keep this feat quiet.

Instead of acknowledging Shedeur’s milestone, Deion Sanders lauded the star players of the game Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter. Reach The People Media uploaded a section of Deion Sanders’ appreciation speech on YouTube on September 4. He said, “Horn was phenomenal. 198 yards. I love my Jimmy man, everything about him.” Horn scored his first season touchdown with a 69-yard pass from Shedeur late in the first quarter.

As for Travis Hunter who scored three of the four touchdowns, Deion Sanders said, “Travis Hunter is Travis. 131 snaps. Shows no sign of tiring. He is who he is. He is the definition of him.” Hunter made headlines with his incredible TDs but the last one was done in quite an incredible fashion that he even earned the name of the “glitch” in college football. But all in all, the Colorado vs NDSU clash is a game to remember. Will they still be able to produce worthy highlights in their next clash against Nebraska?

Expectations at Colorado vs Nebraska Week 2 game

Both Colorado and Nebraska are coming in after a fresh win. So, who are the favorites to win the Week 2 game? The Cornhuskers triumphed over UTEP 40-7 and are entering the game as a 7.5-point favorite over the Buffs as per BetMGM Sportsbook. ESPN also sides with Nebraska with a 60.3% chance to beat Deion Sanders and the Buffs. As per Sports Chat Placel’s prediction, “I’m going to learn towards Nebraska. The Cornhuskers didn’t have too many issues with UTEP, logging 507 yards (223 rushing), 30 first downs and an 11-of-17 run in third-down tries. Nebraska’s defense was solid as well with 205 yards and 12 first downs surrendered. It was a nice opener for the Huskers.”

But Colorado still has a chance to win as Buffaloes Wire’s Jack Carlough wrote, “Nebraska and Colorado have both improved considerably from last year’s showdown at Folsom Field. If the Buffs’ defensive line can rattle freshman Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola in his second career start, we could see another CU victory at Memorial Stadium.” These speculations will be put to rest with the highly-awaited game scheduled to take place at Memorial Stadium Lincoln on September 7.
