Can Deion Sanders' Buffs overcome their offensive woes and prove the doubters wrong against Arizona?

Ain’t no one out there had thought that the Buffs would manage a 4-2 run by now. Everyone had their fingers pointed toward Deion Sanders, and it is somewhat understandable why. Standing on 4-8 last season, everyone was wrong with the team. Deion Sanders’ overreliance on Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter made him overlook the leaky offensive line and a defense that allowed an average of over 35 points in almost every game. But not anymore. Yes, the offense still needs work, but the defense under Robert Livingstone is in a much better spot. And how can we miss out on all the PR stuff? Deion Sanders Jr. has done some solid work on that front.

So, it ain’t no wonder why, before the Arizona clash, Coach Prime took to his Instagram to thank the lord for blessing him with such a talented team. “Lord thank u for all my sons, the young men I coach, and the coaches that are a true blessing to me,” Deion Sanders wrote under the caption of his post. The Instagram upload had multiple pictures featuring Deion himself, along with Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur, and Shilo Sanders.

Listen, we understand, the loss against the Wildcats shouldn’t have happened. The Buffs went up against a much stronger team before that (the Knights) and came out with a massive win. The entire offense and defense were on point. The boys barely allowed UCF to do their iconic run game and QB KJ Jefferson had a hard time breaking it off. While the defense did most of the heavy lifting, Hunter and Shedeur on the offense were pure magic.

But against the Wildcats, all of that flair and charm was missing. Shilo Sanders did come back for this game, but watching him struggle to make a tackle with his knee was heartbreaking. Wildcats TB DJ Giddens had the time of his life, covering 182 yards without breaking a sweat. Shilo himself agreed that this was the “worst game of my life.”

And if that wasn’t bad enough, the entire offense was once again crippled. It was the Huskers game all over again. Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr. were both out in the first half because of a shoulder and ankle injury, but Shedeur did not disappoint. This dude was on fire despite having a weak offensive line and 2 of his best links out of the game. The question now is, can Deion Sanders and Co. pull through the Arizona showdown?

Coach Prime vs the second Wildcats

The first Wildcats was a disaster, could the second be the redemption every Buffs fan wants? You gotta keep in mind that every player Deion Sanders lost in that game is coming back for this one. Back on the CU Buffs’ official Instagram, we saw Hunter all ready and traveling for the showdown. This guy is gonna make this game count. Back against Kansas State, Hunter barely managed to crack the 30-yard mark and was out of the game for the entire second half.

Horn is also coming back to fulfill his promise of becoming the next best WR for the Buffs. And Shedeur? Well, he proved last game that he ain’t less than anyone else. Call him “nepo baby” as much as you want, but without Hunter being there for him, Shedeur still managed to bring in 3 touchdowns and over 380 yards. The main concern would still be the offense. They gotta step up if they want to win. We gonna find out what Coach Prime has managed to cook real soon.
