“I have put zero thought into coaching in the NFL. All my attention has just been getting this team prepared.” See, NFL Black Monday ain’t that bad after all. What some teams in the league need right now is a full HC reset and one of the best candidates is the Bears. 4-10 disaster year and the ultimate firing of Matt Eberflus. Just imagine being the first HC in the history of the franchise to be fired during a season? Gotta hurt, man. But hey, the Bears have a plan. Marcus Freeman still has his slot free, right? Oh, oh no. Yeah, with Freeman out of the talk, who’s gonna take the reins of this franchise?
Well, what about Deion Sanders‘ friend? Eddie George‘s Chicago Bears interview has pretty much eclipsed all other sports buzz. Even Coach Prime took to his IG story to mention, “Praying for my dear friend and brother… Regarding his interview… I believe in u man.” This might feel like something coming right out of the “rumor mill” cause who is even George? Why is he even capable of leading the Bears? Well, to understand all that, you gotta get into the nitty gritty stats and details…

Per league source, Eddie George’s interview for the Chicago Bears head coach vacancy will take place at Halas Hall this morning. That will be their third in person interview in the first round and 17th overall. George has been on the Bears radar for a while, and the team got to…

….In the gridiron? Georgie-boy already knows how to run that football. Led the league in rushes back in 2000 and was marked as the Offensive Rookie of the Year back in 1996. Although his NFL run only lasted for 8 years, it was more than enough to secure him some good coaching jobs.
Being the HC for the Tennessee State Tigers, George helped the team climb out of irrelevancy. From averaging barely 4 wins in 2022 to ending the season with a 9-4 run. Quite the redemption arc, huh? But how well does all of this translate to league performance?
The Bears have been on a failing run for the last 19 years. Gone are the golden days of 2006 when they last advanced to the Super Bowl. To bring this team back in shape would require more than just blood, sweat, and tears. Let’s say Eddie secures the position. What’s the guarantee that someone else won’t do a better job than him?

We don’t talk a lot about the Cyclones, do we? Yeah, they couldn’t make it to the playoffs because of that one disaster game against Arizona State, but come on. You have to give them props on how they manage to wipe Miami under the rug at Pop-Tarts…
35-41 in the final drive and the Cyclones plunge in deep and secure their win with a touchdown by Rocco Becht. You gotta give Matt Campbell some props for showing once again that the Hurricanes were always “all talk and no show”.
So this brings us to another potential Bears HC candidate. See, Campbell has done more than enough this season to prove that he has what it takes to revive a dead team. “Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell is expected to interview for the Chicago Bears job,” On3 pointed out on Instagram.

We won’t be surprised if Campbell edges out George for the spot, but hey, at this point, anything is possible!!
