When your last name is Sanders, life tends to come with the spotlight. Deion Sanders himself has dominated headlines as the NFL Hall of Famer and now has created a revolution for the Colorado Buffs after coming “this” close to the playoffs this season. His sons, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders, were the main culprits behind their unexpectedly successful season. They just cemented their places as stars of the Buffaloes’ revival. But their youngest sibling, Shelomi Sanders? She’s taken a different path, carving her name on the basketball court. Yet, in true Sanders fashion, she can pull off a surprise too. And Coach Prime revealed a throwback that left Shelomi and everyone else laughing out loud with a big WHAT!

The 57-year-old Buffs HC melted hearts with a throwback pic on his Insta. It showed the ‘young’ Shelomi, in shoulder pads, decked out as a quarterback for Truth Football, a newly established local youth program. Someone go tell the OG that Thursdays are meant for throwbacks. Still, close, the Friday throwback post caption read, “My babygirl @shelomisanders was also a Quarterback! #Truth #Dad.” Shelomi’s reaction? A playful “😂😂😂,” proving that the Sanders family knows how to keep it light even as they dominate the sports world. This revelation offers a peek into Shelomi’s early days, showing that her journey to athletic stardom began long before she found her rhythm on the hardwood.

Her basketball career has been all about growth and resilience. After starting first at Jackson State just like her big brothers, Shelomi Sanders came to Colorado, where her father was at the helm. But earlier this year she made a bold decision to transfer to Alabama A&M. While pops initially wasn’t thrilled, calling the move “stupid,” Shelomi had her reasons. “It just wasn’t good energy. It wasn’t good vibes. There wasn’t enough being poured into me as a player and young lady. If I didn’t leave when I did, I promise you I would’ve quit,” Shelomi said.

Her old man’s old-school parenting philosophy believes “children should follow their parents.” Well, the real reason he’s so sad is that he misses his “heart daughter.” However, Shelomi’s choice to trust her instincts and seek a better fit speaks volumes about her maturity. Her decision to transfer back to an HBCU, supported by her mother Pilar, has allowed her to flourish. Since joining Alabama A&M, she’s shown glimpses of her potential, including a college career-high game last month. Shelomi seems determined to write her story her way, and Coach Prime, while initially skeptical, now praises her growth.

Her potential extends beyond college basketball. Born in 2003, Shelomi has two years of eligibility left, meaning she could enter the WNBA draft by the 2026-27 season. With her confidence growing and her stats improving, the future looks bright. As Deion’s youngest, Shelomi has inherited the grit and determination that define the Sanders family. But she’s doing it in her unique style, and daddy loves that too.

Deion’s ‘favorite kid’ list changes faster than you can say ‘boom!’ While Deion Sanders Jr. is currently holding the crown, despite his constant bragging, the Buffs’ safety secretly knows his youngest sister, Shelomi, is truly the apple of his father’s eye. So sorry, Shilo doing dad’s iconic prime-hop celly after a rare tuddy in the Texas Tech win won’t budge. Shelomi Sanders wasted no time showing everyone what she’s made of in her Bama A&M debut.

Dropping a career-high 14 points in the Bulldogs’ emphatic 96-50 win over Oakwood, she turned heads and lit up the court. After spending last season at the University of Colorado, Shelomi’s move to Alabama A&M not only marks her third college basketball stop but also a meaningful return to her roots in HBCU athletics.

Of course, her biggest cheerleader, Dad Coach Prime, wasn’t going to let this moment pass quietly. The proud dad and Colorado head coach hit social media with some well-deserved praise, writing, “Shelomi Sanders balled out in her debut with Alabama A&M.” And in classic Prime style, he added a playful touch, calling his daughter “Bossy,” a nod to her confidence and fierce presence on the court. Shelomi’s mom, Pilar Sanders, also chimed in on Instagram, hyping her daughter’s standout performance with all the mom’s pride in the world. Moral of the story: the youngest kids are always mom and dad’s favorites!
