The Colorado Buffaloes are at an all-time high. After a week of constant doubts about their reputation due to a defeat at the hands of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the black and golden men had a lot to prove against their staunch rivals, the Colorado State Rams. What started as a slow start for Deion Sanders‘ team, soon became a festival of talent, as players like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders kept putting up points and touchdowns on the board.
The win over CSU with a score of 28-9 has been an absolute game-changer for the Buffaloes since the fans have now regained hope that they might just be witnessing a potential playoff team this year. This was a whole new side to the Colorado Buffaloes, with a strong offense along with the defense, and with Shedeur at the helm, so the passes were impeccable as well. Though it had a lot to do with the QB’s prowess, a lot of the motivation might’ve come from his father, the head coach himself, as he was seen giving an endearing pep talk to him before the game.
In a recent video from ‘Well Off Media’, the father-son duo were seen discussing important strategies and Deion instructing Shedeur with a piece of 5-word advice that was enough for him to turn the game around.

Deion took to Instagram to share the video clip and captioned it with, “Give them what they want #CoachPrime @cubuffsfootball (posted by @deionsandersjr).” That is exactly what Shedeur did as he led the team to a glorious win, which was exactly what the fans wanted from him.

Post-game, Deion looked to be almost emotional as he told his team how proud he was of them, and now, hopefully, the team can retain their momentum and continue to win games next week. Shedeur did his job exceptionally well but currently, he’s being scrutinized for not being a good sportsman and declining to shake hands with Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi.

The rivalry between Colorado and CSU wouldn’t have been half as exciting if it weren’t for the heated tensions that have been on the rise ever since the 2023 season. From Jay Norvell going after Deion’s manners last season to Shedeur and Fowler-Nicolosi engaging in an aggressive interaction on the field after the win, the stakes just keep increasing between these two giants. As of now, Shedeur is on the receiving end of the public slander yet again for only giving CSU a dose of their own medicine.

Prior to the game, Fowler-Nicolosi had really brutal remarks for their rivals and was heard saying, “We should have murdered them guys, we’re coming for revenge” along with, “I think it goes to show that they hype, the media train, all that, it only gets you so far at the end of the day. We’ll see how far Instagram followers get them. ” Shedeur didn’t respond to these comments right away but chose to take his revenge when players from both teams were seen shaking each other’s hands. The Colorado QB chose to not shake hands with Fowler-Nicolosi and call him out for his vile attacks. The Rams’ quarterback instead left the situation but not before Shedeur embarrassed him on national television.
This was a perfect revenge story where success was the best clap back to the haters and yet, the fans are still choosing to spew hate on Shedeur for not being a good “sportsman.” It almost seems like no matter what Shedeur does, the tide is always against him and he’s left fending himself off against stacked odds.
