Deion Sanders might be known for his tough love. But deep within, no matter how much he refuses to accept it, there lies a soft corner for his sons. Well, that’s how fathers are right? But for Deion, it’s harder! He now has to bear the blows for both his sons QB Shedeur and safety Shilo for the feat they put up.
Already Shilo has been in hot water for his substandard play against Kansas State. So much so, that Deion too had to pitch in to make the safety realize his mistakes calling his play ‘horrible.’ But time for Coach Prime to make up for being too harsh. The concerned Pops now take to IG to lift Shilo’s mood after his grand performance against Arizona.
Coach Prime is a proud Papa!

One game and BOOM! Deion’s stance changed for Shilo. Coach Prime was noticeably in a better mood after the Buffs crushed the Wildcats 34-7 on Saturday, October 19. Besides the final score, it had got to do more with Shilo’s highlight reel. Well, Deion’s latest IG post does all the talking. Posting a picture with Shilo, where the doting father looks at his son with a twinkle in his eyes, the Buffs HC captioned it as, “WOW. what a difference a week makes! 1 minute you’re the topic of ridicule because it’s your 1st time in your career that u showed vulnerability in your game but a week later you’re back to the PHYSICAL AGGRESSIVE DAWG that we all know….Now u know who’s who son.”

Deion further added, “The impressive performance that Shilo had put up couldn’t be passed off without giving due credit.” It did not have to take to Shilo’s father to appreciate the Buffs’ safety’s talent. Shilo’s impressive feat forced Arizona to pack their bags and leave as he finished the game with four total tackles. Not just that. The senior safety didn’t give up big plays limiting Wildcats’ defense to 245 yards in the Big 12 contest. Right now, Shilo is tied for the fourth-most total tackles on Buffs defense with 21 on the season. But just a few days back, it was the same Shilo who lost his father’s trust landing the ‘horrible’ tag. How surprising, isn’t it?

Is Deion Sanders' tough love approach the right way to motivate his son Shilo?
Have an interesting take?
We are yet to know whether Deion had put up a tough father mask or he was genuinely upset with Shilo’s performance against Kanas State that cost them a hard, 31-28 loss. But what we know is that Coach Prime got too harsh while critiquing his son. Before the Kansas State face-off, Shilo had missed three games since he was down with a forearm injury while playing against Nebraska on September 7.
While Deion had high hopes pinned on the safety, he somehow failed to live up to the Buffs’ standards. Even though he finished the game with seven tackles, fans, being fans, stripped off the athlete, pounding him hard for the ones he missed. For instance, he missed several tackles on the evening. The one that broke Buffs fans’ hearts included DJ Giddens juking him into an awkward position.

During the post-game interview, Deion Sanders did not mince his words before dropping a bold claim, “I thought he played horrible.” He scrutinized every factor of Shilo’s gameplay and came up with a detailed account, “I thought he was rusty, he didn’t have his footing.” Thank god, Shilo has buckled himself up at the right time, as he will have to make the most use of his game against Cincinnati on October 26 to pave his way to the NFL.
