Can Deion Sanders' sleepless nights really make a difference for the CU Buffs' future success?

The 2024 kickoff is near. The Colorado Buffaloes head coach, Deion Sanders, is pulling all-nighters not in his lavish home but in the Buffs camp. However, he should take things easy. At least that’s what the Buffs alum Matt McChesney feels like. According to McChesney, Deion could not run for greatness all by himself. Instead, he needs his full team to run the same race. However, if it doesn’t turn out how the Buffs HC has planned, hope will always come out on top. Meanwhile, the preps to inject a “never-say-die” attitude has already started.

In a conversation with Carl Reed Jr. of 247Sports, Deion revealed he has turned the Buffs camp into his bedroom. But even then, he spends sleepless nights brainstorming the strategies for the make-or-break season. The analyst shared, “When I talked to him last night he told me that he hasn’t been home since camp started.” But why is that Deion is locked in on winning this time? The ex-Buffs had the answer on the Zero 2 Sixty with Matt McChesney podcast. McChesney said, “This is like the last dance for the Sanders family together.”

Since 2024 marks Shilo and Shedeur’s last lap in college football, their father wants to make it big. However, it won’t be easy for Deion. As McChesney pointed out, since it demands a combined hustle, “It’s an incredible opportunity for them and when a big man is setting the tone and leading the way that he leads everybody sees it everybody has to push a little bit harder if coach Prime is setting the tone.”

But what if Deion’s victory chase goes off the rails? Not to worry, McChesney offers a rock-solid guarantee, “I personally think that coach Prime is setting himself up for greatness here so you know if it doesn’t work out it’s definitely not because of a lack of effort.” He then will have to wait for the long run. However, based on Deion’s moves, it seems he’s aiming to pull off a 2024 season wonder.

Deion Sanders’ lessons for protecting opportunities

The Buffs HC has unleashed his realistic side to expose the roster to reality. And there’s no room for softness now that Deion’s army will take the field with only one mission: to flip the 4-8 narrative. The August 20 episode of Thee Pregame Show Network walked us through Coach Prime’s inspirational interludes. And what was the theme of the pep-talk session? Glory has to be chased down; it’s not delivered with a bow on top.

The team room was packed with players when Deion said, “Anything in life that truly appreciated is earned.” The Buffs HC pointed out that the players’ duty does not end with running after success. Instead, they will have to continuously be on guard to protect the chance from being snatched by others.
