Is Deion Sanders' 'Prime Time' magic enough to handle the threat from Texas' Jonah Williams?

“One of the freakiest athletes in the 2025 recruiting cycle.” When someone labels a player that, you have to know that the kid has something different in him. Did you know that Deion Sanders played baseball and football together? While right now we know him as Coach Prime, Deion was once out there playing for the Yankees. Through some miraculous contract, Deion was allowed to juggle 2 sports simultaneously. And not only that, he might as well also be one of the select few athletes to compete in the NFL and the MLB. But wait, looks like someone is coming for Deion’s dual sport threat.

Meet 5-star OLB Jonah Williams. Rivals took to Instagram to share some clips of Williams slaying it on the football field and during a baseball match as well. “5⭐️ @409.jonah can do it all, and he will at Texas🔥 what a get for the Longhorns👏” Rivals noted on their caption.

Marked as the freakiest athlete in the entire 2025 class, Williams is also somewhat of a miracle player. He has been regarded as the No.1 LB in the entire nation by 247Sports. Not only that, the kid has managed to become the No.9 highest-rated player to make his commitment to the Longhorns. The accolades didn’t stop there. Williams is also noted as the country’s top prospect as an outfielder and left-handed pitcher. At Texas, William will continue to focus on both sports. What’s wild is that before deciding to commit to the Longhorns, he had over 15 dual sport offers lined up.

Remember when Deion Sanders managed to hit a home run during a match while playing for the Yankees and just a week or so later, he went on to grab his first NFL TD with 68 68-yard return? This was Prime Time. Now that he has shifted to coaching at the Buffs, it looks like Deion is about to lose his Prime Time crown to Williams. People are already saying that the kid has a chance to become either a No.1 pick in the NFL or the MLB. “It’s 50-50, baseball and football,” Williams had mentioned back during an interview with ESPN while talking about where he wants to end up finally.

With Willams, Texas has hit the No.7 spot on the list of top recruiting classes. This gives the team a clear advantage in 2025.

Have an interesting take?

Steve Sarkisian, HC for the Longhorns, is someone who was sculpted by the legend Nick Saban. So it’s not a surprise that everyone out there expects Texas to make it big this season. If we are talking about 2024, back on July 18th, Harry Douglas explained it perfectly when he noted that this year Sarkisian is going to shock us all. With star players like DJ Campbell, the mullet-king Quinn Ewers, and Isaiah Bond, the team has one of the best offense and defense lineups in CFB.

And for the 2025 year, we can look forward to Williams making a name for himself while wearing that orange gear. However, he isn’t the only star Texas managed to grab for its 2025 class. The Sooners took a massive loss when Sarkisian managed to pull in 4-star OT Nick Brooks from them. The kid has been marked by On3 as the No.17 OT in the entire class of 2025 and is already drawing comparisons to the Longhorns’ current tackle star Cameron Williams. With all of this, it looks like the Longhorns have solid control over the 2024 season and the 2025 season as well.
