National signing day gave Colorado a newfound hope! Shedeur Sanders can go on to become one of the top QBs off the board in the 2025 NFL draft. The Buffs are in good hands now. Deion Sanders finally got his most pursued target with Julian Lewis’ commitment on paper. But somewhere else in the Big Ten, a transfer portal situation is brewing up. And it has a scenario where it can directly affect Colorado.

USC Trojans QB Miller Moss is entering the transfer portal to “move on to new opportunities.” Former NFL WR Keyshawn Johnson straight up chose Colorado for Moss in the new YouTube episode on All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson on December 5 saying, “I hope he goes to Colorado.” He also added, He should go to Colorado. Have JuJu Lewis sit for a year and learn under him while Pat Shurmur, the offensive coordinator who was a former head coach in the National Football League as well as offensive coordinator, can get him ready for the NFL.”

Miller Moss was benched by HC Lincoln Riley who chose transfer QB Jayden Maiava as the starter for the final three games. Following this, he announced his decision to enter the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining. The portal will open on December 9 and close on December 28. Before that, schools hunting for transfer QBs like Michigan, Auburn, and Colorado will try to win his attention.

Moss is entering the transfer portal with a reported $915,000 NIL transfer valuation. This would be a great addition to Colorado’s already thriving NIL scene. Besides, he’s not an average football player. In nine games this season, he recorded 2,555 yards and 18 touchdowns including a 27-20 victory over No. 17 LSU in the season opener. But would Deion Sanders bring another Trojans player to Boulder? And also, would that align with Julian Lewis’ wishes?

Julian Lewis’ future in Colorado

USC suffered a huge blow when Deion Sanders flipped Julian Lewis’ commitment. It could be partly due to Colorado’s extravagant pursuit of the 5-star QB that won his interest. But there are other factors too. And the most hyped factor is that he is Shedeur Sanders’ replacement. Recall what he said in November for instance. He said, “They want me to make the best decision for me, but they made it clear that I have the opportunity to play early.”

Julian Lewis is a blue-chip recruit who started every game in his three seasons at Carrollton High School. His record is an impressive 38-3! The 2023 Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year capped off this season with 3,272 yards and 44 touchdowns, already surpassing 10,000 career passing yards in the process! So do you think it would be a wise choice to follow Keyshawn Johnson’s advice?
