Known as Coach Prime’s biggest disciple, the two-way star Travis Hunter seems to be following the Buffs HC everywhere he goes. He moved to Jackson State to be with Deion Sanders, having committed to Florida State a year earlier. Then keeping his association with Sanders alive, he again followed the coach to Boulder in 2023. The two have been often found bonding together during Sanders’s fishing trips. But this time the Buffs HC wants Hunter to rush back home and spend some special time with his sweetheart Leanna Lenee.
The calls for giving Travis Hunter the Heisman Trophy got louder after his performance against the Baylor Bears. With a thrilling Buffs comeback putting them 38-31 ahead in OT, the Bears had the chance to take the game further, but for Travis Hunter’s last-gasp forced fumble. The two-way star proved his worth on both ends of the field and his coach couldn’t be happier.
During the post-game press meet, the HC and Hunter were spotted taking two seats side-by-side. The Buffs HC started by giving a shoutout to the dual-threat for gifting a magical evening, “Travis is here. He played a phenomenal role as usual.” Coach Prime then shared that Hunter didn’t want to show up for the presser alone. “He didn’t want to come up by himself. So he is on my shoulders right now (laughs),” Sanders said.

Coach Prime then had a playful suggestion to get rid of Hunter by making him face the media first and be by his fiancée’s side as soon as possible. He said, “So I turn it over to Travis so he can go get out of here, get home to his baby.” Hunter and his girlfriend got engaged in February this year and have been dating each other since they were in high school. Meanwhile, fiancée Lenee is already head over heels for Hunter during the new season and has gone all out in her support.
With every single day, Lenee is oomphing her ‘Woo Travis’ game. Earlier, the dual-threat’s fiancée had gifted him with a Dodge Ram TRX truck for his birthday. While that gift had been personal, Lenee came up with something new, enough to win the Buffs fans’ hearts. Before the match-up against the Baylor Bears, she decked herself up in a special way.

Well, that’s not all, after Lenee posted her latest outfit look on her Instagram, Coach Prime found his way into the comment section and extended an invitation to the couple.

We have seen the duo bond away from the field as well with Hunter sharing his coach’s passion for fishing. In fact, back in July, Hunter outdid Deion Sanders on the HC’s own territory Lake Prime. The friendly fishing competition saw the 21-year-old catch 10 fish compared to Coach Prime’s paltry total of three.
Apart from his fishing and on-field skills, Travis Hunter has also grabbed the spotlight in NIL as well. Want to know how NIL works in college football? Take a look at the Think Tank podcast with Dawg Sanders.
