Deion Sanders' Buffs: A fluke or the real deal? What do you think of their rise?

Who’s louder? The ecstatic Colorado fans or the haters eating their words? Deion Sanders‘ Colorado Buffaloes have flipped the script, and even the King himself, LeBron James, had to take a moment to give Coach Prime his flowers and respect. After facing brutal backlash last year, when critics dubbed them a “social media team” playing for clicks and whatnot, the Buffs are now 8-2 and sitting second in the Big 12 conference. And as Colorado’s rise under Deion Sanders continues to stun everyone, Lebron couldn’t resist calling out the haters lurking in the shadows like Batman.

Deion Sanders made one thing clear when he took over as head coach in late 2022“We coming.” Fast forward to 2024, and it’s safe to say, “They here, and here’s to stay.” Lebron James is never the one to shy away from backing greatness; after all, it’s his motto to “Strive for Greatness.” He also posted his admiration for Deion & Co. on X: “I don’t hear non of those @CUBuffsFootball @DeionSanders HATERS being up front and loud! They’re in hiding 🫣 now! 🤣🤣🤣. Coach Prime said ‘We Coming.’ Well it’s ‘We Here’ now. Love what’s going on there in Boulder!” The show of support hit home for Sanders, who responded with a retweet, “@KingJames Thank u my brother for the support!” Well, a GOAT recognizing a GOAT! That’s some serious respect from LeBron to Coach Prime.

Lebron James is a true giver. He built the “I PROMISE School” to help kids in Akron, and he even hooks up Coach Prime with exclusive kicks. Their bond goes way back, and they often swap their Nike sneakers. Even Travis Hunter joked about snagging those kicks. It’s all love—an unbreakable bond between legends. The noise once surrounded Sanders’ team—social media experts calling them all hype, so-called critics predicting doom—has quieted faster than a pin drop at a library.

It’s been a wild, electric ride, led by Sanders and his two sons, Shedeur and Shilo, as well as his two-way star Travis Hunter, who’ve been playing lights-out football and proving their dad’s vision right. If LeBron’s stamp of approval doesn’t silence the doubters, what will?

Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes vs. Utah Utes game

What’s your perspective on:

Deion Sanders' Buffs: A fluke or the real deal? What do you think of their rise?

Have an interesting take?

Week 12 brought us a showdown in Boulder that was pure dominance. The Buffaloes dismantled Utah 49-24 on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff, and Travis Hunter once again made his case for the Heisman Trophy. Hunter’s tw0-way brilliance and 4th & 8 catch lit the field up: five catches for 55 yards and a rushing touchdown on offense, plus three tackles and a clutch interception on defense. The kid is doing it all, and 2 more weeks of this caliber of performance. The Heisman will be in his name.

Sheduer Sanders, meanwhile, was serving, completing 73% of his passes for over 340 yards, 3 touchdowns, and one interception. And when it mattered the most, Prime’s team bal-ed out. Facing a 4th & 8 on Utah’s backfield, with only 1:11 left in the first half, Shedeur took a snap and comfortably rolled 3 steps right and lobbed a perfect jump ba-l to Hunter, who leaped through defenders and mossed the Utah cornerbacks, who left everyone’s jaw on the floor. This type of play is proof that Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes are not a fluke.

Utah, coming in with a five-game losing streak, had no answers. Their defense was outclassed, and their offense outpaced. Coach Prime’s Buffs delivered a statement win, leaving no doubt about their Big 12 dominance. Now, Colorado’s playoff hopes are still alive, but very unlikely. But Sanders’ comeback tour isn’t just a story—it’s a movement. From last year’s 4-8 to this year’s contender status. The Buffs’ rise under Deion Sanders is something you’ve got to see to believe. As Lebron said: “We here.”
