With Nick Saban backing Deion Sanders, is Coach Prime the future of college football?

Deion Sanders and Nick Saban may not have the smoothest relationship before their commercial campaign for Aflac. But the two have formed a bond of mutual regard and respect for each other. On August 31, Nick Saban lauded Deion Sanders during a segment of an ESPN show in Week 1 while discussing top HBCU games.

This is what Nick Saban had to say about Deion Sanders, “No one realizes the impact that Deion Sanders had in the SWAC… They got a huge TV contract, which has now enabled them to upgrade the quality of their programs, as well as provide better opportunities for their players to develop as people, as students and have better careers as football players.” Still, Deion Sanders’ nemesis Paul Finebaum still finds fault with Colorado.

In a new YouTube episode on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson on September 2, the former NFL TE reacted to Finebaum’s comment. Backing Deion Sanders and Colorado, he said, “You’re going to have to stand out for the simple fact scouts are not coming scouting these schools like they go Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, and so forth.”

Following Colorado’s victory over North Dakota State, Paul Finebaum revealed that he had some things bugging him. He said, “What concerns me more than anything else was the way Deion coached the game down the stretch. Is he in control of the sidelines? Does Shedeur have the final word on everything?” Finebaum’s final comment on Colorado is a bold topic – “What did Colorado really accomplish other than drawing a big audience for ESPN?” This is where Colorado’s social popularity gets the center attention, but it’s not without a proper reason.

Colorado gave a solid reason for people to watch their highlights

Those who were in attendance at the Colorado vs NDSU opener at Folsom Field got a treat. The Buffs delivered a game to remember with Travis Hunter stealing the spotlight with his incredible touchdowns. High-profile names like LeBron James and Terrell Owens were also present to witness the stellar performance first-hand.

Hunter scored three of four touchdowns the Buffs secured in their 31-26 victory, giving the CFB world more than enough reason to replay the highlights. It’s no wonder how Travis Hunter earned the name of the “glitch” in the EA Sports College Football 25. The next game will be a clash against Nebraska on September 7. Will they be able to relive their last season’s 36-14 win over the Cornhuskers? Let’s see.
