It’s that tough love that made Jimmy Horn Jr. one of the most important WRs on the Buffs squad. We all know that Deion Sanders always treats the boys on the roster like they are his family. However, there is still one who Coach Prime kind of admires more. Horn has been a massive asset to the Colorado Buffs this season. While those injuries against Kansas and then against Texas Tech did manage to stain his overall run, he still did more than enough. Bringing in around 22 receptions with 1 touchdown and around 400+ yards. All of this does make us think what this dude would be doing if he had a chance to join Deion Sanders’ ragtag crew back in Jacksonville.
Regardless, behind much of this success is Coach Prime. However, don’t you ever forget that it ain’t just Deion who built Horn’s character. Back on the new ‘We Got Time Today’ talk show, Deion Sanders opens up about an emotional moment he had with Horn and Horn’s father. “I went to one of the prisons with Jimmy Horn… His father is incarcerated here. So we spent the whole morning with his father, which was wholesome, heartwarming, touching, tear-jerking,” Coach Prime mentioned. While we don’t talk enough about Jimmy Horn Sr., it is important to understand that it was this man who helped make Horn Jr. the man he is today.

See, Jimmy Jr. has always been very candid while talking about his father. The entire incarceration happened based on the 2021 dr-g chargers and this was a massive setback for Horn Jr., but it didn’t let that stop him from being grounded and staying real on that field.
And honestly, Coach Prime stepped up when he decided to bring Horn Jr. under his wing. We all know that Deion is an amazing father. Just look at Shilo Sanders and Shedeur Sanders and you will understand that this man makes sure that his kids put family and respect above all else.
Making Horn Jr. his godchild and guiding him throughout the season was quite the journey. Horn Jr. didn’t lose a father. He gained two. We cannot wait to see what Jimmy Horn Jr. manages to get done for the Buffs in the next season.
2025 is the year to shine for Jimmy Horn Jr.

With the draft around the corner, Deion was going to lose some of his best players. Shedeur is leaving, which leaves a gap in the QB depth. However, with Julian Lewis on the roster, we know that Coach Prime will come up with an easy fix.
However, the WR depth is more concerning. Travis Hunter is off to the league, so that leaves LaJohntay Wester and Will Sheppard on the squad. Now, will Horn Jr. decide to leave as well? We don’t think so.
See, with the entire injury scene that happened mid-season and against Texas Tech, it is bound to impact his draft stocks. While this is his final year of eligibility, if he goes now, then he will probably get a late-round pick.

That’s wishful thinking, but this guy could end up sticking with Colorado for one more season. In that way, he will be able to increase his draft stocks and that could give him a mid-round pick or even a first-round pick. We still gotta wait for the final draft news, though.
