The whole “Colorado vs. Everyone” thing is starting to feel pretty real, right? It’s like everything is lining up just that way. Deion Sanders and his team are all in this season—not just to improve on last year but to win it all.

But let’s be honest: few people want to see the Colorado Buffs come out on top outside of Boulder. It became clear when Coach Prime’s eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., shared a story on Instagram.

Bucky shared a post from West Coast College Sports on Instagram that asked fans to predict the outcome of the CU Buffs vs. NDSU game, captioned, “Who are you Cheering For? Colorado Vs. North Dakota State.” Now, since Colorado head coach Coach Prime’s son shared this post, you’d think it would bring some good news for the folks in Boulder, especially for the Buffs’ fans. But no. The poll results were shocking. Only 29% of the voters wanted Colorado to win, while a whopping 71% threw their support behind NDSU.

For Boulder residents and Colorado fans, this is a real heartbreaker. The CU Buffs finished 4-8 overall last season, and many believe they’ll do even better this season. But despite this optimism, the majority—or should we say the haters—think the CU Buffs will lose their first game.

Breaking down the historic success of Colorado Buffs and NDSU

While it’s unfair to judge the game based on past success, since these two teams have never faced off, it seems like the only way to predict the outcome. According to statistics, it’s clear that the CU Buffs are seen as the underdogs against NDSU.

  • Total Wins: This matchup seems one-sided, with Colorado appearing much weaker. NDSU has 750 wins to its name, while the Buffs have 700.
  • Championship Success:  If we talk about championships, Colorado has one win in its name, while North Dakota has shown its talent by winning the championship a total of 17 times.
  • Historical Context:  On one side, the Buffs have made their mark in FBS, while on the other side, the Bisons have a talent that no one can imagine, not only in FCS but all college football. Over the years, they have shown to be a strong team against the CU Buffs and many other teams.

Even though these stats proclaim the Bisons the winner over the Buffs before the game even starts, we can’t deny that there’s a reason very few people like Deion’s spunk. Among these 71% of people, some legions don’t want to see the Buffs win. Whose side are you on?
