Is Shedeur Sanders carrying the CU Buffs offense on his back while the rest of the team lags?

In all honesty, if we look back at the Buffs vs Bison game, it did show us how much potential Shedeur Sanders has when he is not burdened with doing everything on the field. Much like Matt McChesney had noted back on July 20th, “When Shedeur…. don’t have to do fu–ing everything every week in order to win. It will allow him to literally do anything on the field.” Shedeur had full control of the offense. The kid managed to sneak in around 4 TDs and commanded the field with 445 passing yards. Much of the credit should be given to Pat Shurmur, who Deion Sanders had decided to bring into the team.

However, today during a live episode of Zero 2 Sixty, Matt McChesney raises a fair question to Deion Sanders Jr. regarding the Buffs offense. “Shedeur is unbelievable. Um, when do you think the rest of the offense catches up and matches those?” Matt asked. Deion Jr. could only laugh after hearing that question. “That’s a crazy question,” Deion Jr. noted. Both Jordan Seaton and Tyler Brown on the O-line gave Shedeur the support and the much-required protection inside the pockets, which allowed the QB to shine. However, the interior 3 has to get better. “When offensive personnel plays on the level of Travis, Shedeur, and Horn, holy sh-t are they gonna be unstoppable,” Matt mentioned. The only solid plays throughout the match were done by Travis Hunter, Shedeur, and Jimmy Horn. The rest of the O-line, except Seaton and Brown, even failed to lockdown QB Cam Miller and his rushes during the match. Especially the 20-yard run, which Miller managed to sneak in at the final quarter of the game.

If you sit back and think about it, this ain’t the team that Coach Prime had envisioned when he decided to revamp the O-line and the defense. And the worst part about all of this is it’s like a repetition of last year. Deion had the same leaky offense last year, which caused him the entire season. Shedeur and Hunter had to carry most of the matches and without the entire O-line being on their level, Shedeur ended up being the most sacked QB. The mistakes they made at Folsom cannot carry over during the Nebraska match because Matt Rhule is ready to exploit the Buffs’ messy offense.

This would be the 73rd time the Buffs go up against the Cornhuskers. Last year was tragic for Matt Rhule as Deion managed to steal the crown away with a massive 36-14 win. But, if you thought that Coach Prime would have the same luxury again, then you are so wrong. Connor Happer had perfectly explained what Rhule’s strategy could be. “Take advantage in the middle of the field,” Harper mentioned. The offense and defense would allow the Cornhuskers to easily sneak past and get some scores in.

The scary part is that during the Cornhuskers vs UTEP game, we saw how much Rhule’s team has evolved. The shining star was QB Dylan Raiola. The kid managed to get in 2 TDs during the match and played around 19027. That ain’t the best part. We saw how easily he managed to the defense untangle himself from 2 different defenders and get a touchdown. This will be scary for the Buffs because their defense failed to control Cam Miller. Regardless, this is CFB folks, anything can happen here. All we gotta do right now is wait for the Buffs vs Cornhuskers game.
