Dad’s out here beefing with journalists, and son’s out here refusing handshakes. Man, it feels like controversies love to follow the Sanders family. Shedeur Sanders, this year, is on a slow trajectory to redeem himself. The NDSU starter did prove that this guy is definitely improving as a QB, but the Huskers game left a dent in his progress with 5 sacks in. But you can’t really blame him. The Buffs O-line was a disaster back then and they just couldn’t protect Shedeur Sanders at all. However, the Rocky Mountain Showdown is where Shedeur proved why he is one of the best in CFB.
With 4 TDs and over 300 yards with amazing presence and pressure from the pocket, Shedeur rocked the game against the Rams. So, why are people not talking about that and are more focused on the entire handshake controversy? Moreover, why did this entire incident even happen? On September 19th, on Zero 2 Sixty, Deion Sanders Jr. perfectly explains what led to this entire debacle. “Bro, he shake everybody else’s hand……The crowd that said ‘Daddy’s money’…Bro (Colorado Rams QB) went up there and hyped up the same crowd when we out there warming up,” Deion Jr. mentioned.
Solely based on this, it’s quite understandable why Shedeur denied the handshake from Rams QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi. “It felt like a lot of hate to me personally,” Shedeur had mentioned while talking about the entire scene on his 2Legendary podcast.

Him getting targeted for the wrong reasons makes sense. Even Deion Sanders is facing something similar regarding the fight song incident. Without any evidence, multiple media outlets marked that Deion asked the school band not to perform the fight song after Shedeur landed the TD pass against the Huskers.
At this point, it feels like anyone would write anything on the Sanders just to make a buck. Well, here it is folks, the clear disadvantages of being famous in CFB. Still, we would like to note that Shedeur could’ve engaged in the handshake. How the Buffs managed to smash the Rams and win the game with 28-9 on the board was the best clap-back Shedeur gave Brayden. However, something to note here, while Shedeur is getting a ton of media attention for this incident, he ain’t getting enough for what he did during the Huskers game.
Shedeur Sanders’ attitude problem
Time to balance the scale. So, the Huskers game was a beat-down for the Buffs. Negative rushing yards till the 2nd quarter are wild. Much of the blame should be divided between the boys on the roster. However, the O-line was the most tragic. They made it SO easy for the Nebraska defense to sack or block Shedeur out. It was almost embarrassing. Still, it was what Shedeur did during the 4th quarter that mattered most.

What’s your perspective on:
Did Shedeur Sanders overreact, or was he right to refuse the handshake after the 'daddy's money' taunt?
Have an interesting take?
With 2 minutes left on the clock, Shedeur walked out of the field. Now this is peak unsportsmanlike behavior. Understandably, the game was already over, but walking out early makes zero sense. Not only this, Shedeur went on to bash the O-line for their mistakes during the post-game conference. Yes, the O-line was below average, but bashing them won’t make things better. While we did see that the Buffs had learned from their mistakes and made the Rocky Mountain Showdown a spectacle, Shedeur still should work on his attitude.
However, as you wait for Shedeur Sanders to become more accepting and ‘nice’, why not switch focus on Doug Sanders? We promise you, that you are going to love this episode from the EssentiallySports Think Tank interview.
