Does the Wester brothers' bond give Colorado football an emotional edge over their rivals?

Look out for your brother. That’s something Colorado football will relate to. After all, they have the most sets of brothers in a college football program. Florida Atlantic transfer WR LaJohntay Wester is making a big impact in Colorado this season. And he’s making sure he’s passing on some of the impact down to his brother through his motivational speech.

Deion Sanders Jr. captured a special bro moment between the Wester brothers. On October 21, he uploaded a heartwarming video on Instagram on welloffforever with the caption, “God is the greatest.” It featured LaJohntay and Jaylen Wester locked in a prayer before their Arizona kickoff. After saying their Amen, LaJohntay gave his bro the motivation and hype. “Take advantage of the opportunity. Have fun. I love you,” the big brother said before diving in for an embrace.

LB Jaylen Wester didn’t see action in the last win against Arizona. This season, the Florida Atlantic transfer appeared in three games, 1-2, where he recorded seven tackles, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection. The last win was all Colorado needed but they displayed their dominance over the Wildcats in their wild 34-7 victory.

Colorado excelled in all aspects in the last game. But the defense stood out with a total of seven sacks, allowing Arizona just one touchdown. Freshman CB Colton Hood stood out among the defenders as he earned the admiration from LaJohntay Wester for his impressive tackle. Travis Hunter was out for the second half of the game due to precautionary measures for his injury but Wester set a milestone himself in the last game.

LaJohntay Wester is a gem in Colorado

More than once, LaJohntay Wester has proved that he has great potential. Remember that rainy Week 4 night against Baylor? Even if you don’t remember everything, none can forget the last bit of the game-changing plays. Wester skillfully caught a 43-yard Hail Mary pass from Shedeur Sanders in the end zone sending the game to overtime which they ultimately won 38-31.

Have an interesting take?

Again at the Kansas State game, Colorado dominated early with a 7-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to Shedeur and LaJohntay’s chemistry. The duo connected for a 25-yard catch that led to a running touchdown. The ending to Week 7 is a sad 31-28 loss but the Buffs were able to bounce back in Week 8. In the last game against the Arizona Wildcats, LaJohntay recorded eight receptions for 127 yards, a season-high record. Can we expect more records from this senior WR?
