Will Deion Sanders' loyalty to Colorado withstand the allure of following his sons to the NFL?

“I don’t think Deion Sanders will be there next year,” sports columnist Paul Finebaum had predicted in September this year. With the Colorado Buffaloes head coach’s real son Shedeur Sanders and “second son” Travis Hunter moving to greener pastures—or to the NFL in this case—it’s only natural for many to assume that Deion Sanders will want to ride off into the sunset too. After all, hasn’t the former two-way player seemingly accomplished at that he set out to achieve?

His entrepreneurial eldest son Deion Sanders Jr is already making waves with his multiple businesses, including a streetwear brand, and a multimedia company. Shilo, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will declare for the 2025 NFL draft, with a potentially promising NFL career following after. Even his daughter, Deiondra Sanders, after her decade-long battle with fibroids and pregnancy issues, finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Snow Que, on August 9 (on his grandfather’s birthday) this year. However, as happily ever after-esque as the coach’s life may seem, he has more to do, which was further confirmed by Deion Sanders Jr.

In a recent behind-the-scenes YouTube video of the Buffs team and the Sanders family, uploaded by Well Off Media on November 1, Bucky began discussing how he should be spending more time with his family given how their in the team are dwindling down. So I’m in Dallas for 24 hours. Basically Shedeur wants me to record some stuff in Vegas with him…so, it is what it is man, you know, you only got a few, like not even a few months or so left with my brothers, you know what I’m saying, including Travis, that’s my brother too. So that’s why, of course, I was like, ‘Yeah, I might as well do both even though I don’t feel like it’.”

The 30-year-old further talked about his ordeal and unitentionally (or intentionally) confirmed what everyone was waiting for. “I might as well go record both of them, including my dad…You know, it’s uncertain after December so it is what it is. I’m going spend as much time with my fam as I can because we don’t know what the future holds like. I mean, we do, my dad still going to be in Colorado. They [brothers and Travis Hunter] going to be elsewhere,” Deion Sanders Jr stated.

Notably, sometime during the offseason when talks about Shedeur and Travis’ NFL future were at large, Deion Sanders somehow found himself surrounded by rumors. Many began to speculate that the Buffs HC would follow his sons to the NFL rather than stay behind in Boulder. More than once, Coach Prime tried to voice his commitment, saying he loves Colorado and that he’d rather coach young kids whom he has influence over than the experts in the professional field…

As for Shedeur and Travis, they’re both set to be first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Buffs QB has recorded 2,591 yards and 21 touchdowns in eight games and is projected as a favorite to land with the New York Jets as the 4th overall pick. Hunter is a coveted two-way star who is also among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy. He recorded 60 receptions for 757 yards and eight touchdowns on offense and 20 tackles, one FF, two interceptions, and seven pass breakups on defense. While the future looks good for the players, where would Deion Sanders Jr. be?

College football or NFL? Dad or brothers? That’s Deion Sanders Jr.’s dilemma right now as he tries to navigate his future. In his video, he voiced his lost state, saying, “I don’t know what the future holds for me. I don’t know. I haven’t made a decision. I don’t know. I just don’t know. I don’t know what I’m going to do. But I do know Well Off is expanding. That’s all I know.”

Back in July, Bucky boldly stated he’s expanding Well Off to cover not only Colorado but other schools too.” He revealed that there will be Well Off representatives so that Well Off is still going to be everywhere.” This already sounds like a plan. It’s not unlikely that we’ll be seeing Deion Sanders Jr. hopping between college football and the NFL, between his dad and brothers. Whatever happens, the creative genius will surely step out of his cloudy state to make a name for himself and a legacy for his Well Off brand.
