Deion Sanders being a possible HC recruit for the Cowboys is sure fun to talk about. But there are a lot of moving parts to this crazy speculation of a headline to head towards something tangible. For one, Deion being the second-fiddle is going to cramp his style against a conservative Jerry Jones who likes publicity as much as Sanders but not at the cost of losing control. Secondly, Deion would never coach a team against both his sons’ future NFL team. It may have been a meet-cute when Jerry picked his phone up to call Deion just a week ago and Prime may have called the offer “intriguing,” but it led to more questions than answers. A follow-up call from Adam Schefter was next in line right after the news broke.

And although “intriguing” was the operative word here, this was quickly followed by a “but.” “But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body in the community.” Schefter had a very simple question: “So, what’s next?

And he said to me, ‘I don’t know.’ I said, ‘You don’t know what’s happening next?’… I think everything is in the beginning stages. there’s no meeting plan with Jerry right now. But clearly the logic and communication are open. They’re going to be in touch and I think it goes for both sides.”

One of the constants in Prime’s coaching team since their days coaching youth football in the Dallas area is Andre’ Hart. Currently working as an LB coach, Hart was out to lunch with Deion Sanders when Coach Prime made the decision to be the next coach at Colorado. And yet again, at a time when speculations are running wild, Hart along with Pat Shurmur has revealed Deion’s intention in the coming season. This is the latest we have, and it looks like Deion is going to stay put in Colorado. Hart revealed.

As the Buffs staffer, Andre Hart, and Pat Shurmur make their stance pretty clear on Deion Sanders’ next move, saying, “I said, the man that walked in that meeting Sunday was talking like he’s got every intention of winning the Big 12 here at the University of Colorado because that’s all we talked about. There was no mention of anything else. It was: This is what we’re going to do, this is what we got to do to get there, and this is what I expect.” This is the same thing Coach Prime has been saying since this speculation started.

What Deion Sanders did for the Buffs makes him eye candy for many NFL programs, not just the Dallas Cowboys, but even the Raiders are in the race. Considering the unrealistic expectations surrounding the Dallas Cowboys, a team without a Super Bowl win since 1995, they’ve been yearning for a strong leader. But despite all the speculations, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport gives a clear picture of the current scenario, saying, “There has been no interview with Deion Sanders and the Cowboys yet.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Deion Sanders the Hollywood-style wildcard the Cowboys need, or just another gamble by Jerry Jones?

Have an interesting take?

Look, Dallas remains the place where he eventually played once, and there is a high chance he inherits a roster featuring Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs, but his intentions to stay with the Buffs seem very solid.

Moreover, Coach Hart also believes even if Deion Sanders takes up the role of coaching the Cowboys, there’s nothing left for him to prove to make his presence strong, saying, “I want everybody to understand that he also is not a person who needs to prove anything to anybody or take a job to prove his relevance in this game. He is not like any other coach where he needs to go to a higher level to feel that he’s a coach or that he knows football.” That’s a fact.

Now it’s not like Deion Sanders is the only one brewing NFL speculations. The list of successful coaches in CFB is pretty long, like Marcus Freeman or Steve Sarkisian, but even they have to start from scratch to make their presence strong in the NFL.

Yet, that’s not the case with Coach Prime. We all saw how the two-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame inductee quickly became one of the best coaches in CFB. Plus, his ability to resonate well with both young and old minds remains very impressive. But is the move worthwhile?

Is Deion Sanders’ move to the Cowboys worth it?

Let’s be honest, the rumors about Deion Sanders heading to the Cowboys are really gaining momentum. Jason Garrett seems to think it could work, saying, “I think they can be honest with each other.” And let’s not forget, Deion knows how to win. He claimed two SWAC titles and Coach of the Year awards during his time at Jackson State.

And at Colorado, his impact both on and off the field was undeniable, with ticket revenue skyrocketing to $31.2M in 2023-24 thanks to the “Prime Effect.” It’s clear that Jerry Jones loves making bold moves, and Deion definitely fits the bill. However, as DeMarcus Ware pointed out, “It will be hard to have two stars.” There’s no denying that Deion’s legendary status and winning record make him a top contender, but the big question remains: can his transformational style translate to Dallas? Given his track record, he’s the kind of Hollywood-style wildcard that Cowboys fans would love to see.

But it’s worth considering what would happen when you pair Deion with Jerry. Jerry is a marketing mastermind and the ultimate decision-maker for the Cowboys, while Deion thrives on charisma and control. Can these two alphas share one sideline? Deion’s coaching record of 97-43 proves he knows how to win, but Mike McCarthy’s NFL résumé of 174-112-2 shows he understands the grind. The clash between Deion’s college charisma and pro-level grit could define this move.

Ultimately, Jerry Jones has one clear goal in mind: another Lombardi Trophy. As DeMarcus Ware aptly put it, “He’s made enough money. He wants to win.” However, considering Jerry’s track record – like his infamous “all-in” declaration before 2024 – it’s hard to ignore the pattern. Will this move finally bring the Cowboys back to glory, or is time running out for America’s team?
