And it’s almost here. The Buffs are about to hit the turf against NDSU on August 31st and the team looks quite ready. However, Deion Sanders continues to struggle with unwanted media attention because of the entire Denver Post drama. Back on ESPN First Take, both Paul Finebaum and Steph A. Smith criticized Deion over his banning of the Denver Post columnist from the university. While the dust from that entire aftermath is yet to settle, Deion took his chance at making the mood a bit light using a funny edit.
On August 29th, Deion took to his Instagram to post a hilarious ad before game day. And WR Travis Hunter was probably rolling on the floor after watching it cause he shared the reel on his Instagram story with 4 laughing emojis. The clip featured Deion reading a newspaper while chilling on a chair and Hunter getting hit on the head with a basketball. “It’s game day #CoachPrime @cubuffsfootball Made by @skobuffsmemez,” Deion wrote in the caption of the post. To say that the boys need some break would be an understatement. We all know that this year is Deion’s final chance to climb out of the “overrated” trademark that has become synonymous with the Buffs and its players. The 2023 year was rough. Losing 6 matches in a row and the lead QB becoming the most sacked player in the entire season is not a good look. However, things have changed.

Travis Hunter is showing considerable improvement in his overall presence. With an increase in his weight (around 17 pounds) and much-needed changes in accuracy and strength, he can rule the WR position when the ball is in his hands. Also, Deion and his boys have access to over 150+ years of NFL experience. Deion brought in Pat Shurmur, Warren Sapp, and many more to teach the boys more about the offense and defense. One major change that the Buffs did to ensure that Shedeur Sanders makes it big this year was changing up the entire O-line. With 5-star Jordan Seaton leading the offense, Shedeur is in safe hands. However, NDSU will not make it easy.
Coach Prime needs to focus
NDSU ranked 4th in FSU last year with an average rushing yard of 230. That is a big problem for the Buffs defense. The good thing is, that Deion has made the much-needed change to his roster to ensure that the defense and offense stay on top. However, the boys still need to make sure that Cam Miller and Cole Payton do not get the room to run. They were the lead rushers for NDSU last year.
Another big news is that Shedeur might make some waves in this match. Even Bisons HC Tim Polasek acknowledged that Shedeur is a solid player. “He’s the best player NDSU has played yet,” Tim had mentioned during a press conference. If the Buffs’ O-line manages to cripple the Bisons enough, then Shedeur can easily slip through and get some TDs on the board. However, nothing is sure. We still gotta wait for game day.
