Deion Sanders is living his best life. The man took a 4-8 Colorado team in 2023 and turned them into a 9-3 juggernaut this season, with a Heisman winner and a Heisman finalist Shedeur Sanders. But with both Hunter and Shedeur headed for the NFL, the million-dollar question is: where is Shedeur playing next season? And more importantly, is Coach Prime tagging along for the ride?

Shedeur’s stats this season were straight-up NCAA video game numbers—35 touchdowns, nearly 4,000 yards, and only eight picks. No wonder he’s projected as the No. 1 or No. 2 pick alongside Miami’s Cam Ward. If the NFL season ended today, the Giants and Raiders would hold those top two picks, and Shedeur has already been flirting with the Raiders like they’re on a first-date dinner.

But on The Rich Eisen Show, Deion wasn’t having any of the package-deal chatter. “Do you have a spot that you want Shedeur to go to?” Rich asked, teeing it up. Deion’s response was a mic drop: “No, no.” Then he got nostalgic and dropped some wisdom about Shedeur’s goals. “You know what his goal is. I just saw it in his podcast. The goal was to go before I did, and he’s gonna eclipse that.” For context, Prime went 5th overall in the 1989 draft, but Shedeur? He’s ain’t sitting past No. 2, not with QB-starved teams like the Giants and Raiders out here thirsting for a savior.

Then came the big one: the package deal rumor. Rich didn’t beat around the bush: “How do you respond to people that think you and your son are a package deal in the professional football ranks?” Deion shut it down like a pro. “Haven’t spoken to anyone about a package deal or anyone about a deal. Period.” He left no room for debate, even adding, “We’re trying to work something out here. As you speak, I’m not going to lie about that.” Translation? Prime’s got business to handle in Boulder.

Is Deion Sanders really going to the league with Shedeur as a package deal?

What’s your perspective on:

Will Deion Sanders leave Colorado for the NFL, or is he building a legacy in Boulder?

Have an interesting take?

Aight, let’s talk logistics now. Deion Sanders recently inked a fat 5-year, $29.5 million contract that keeps him in Colorado through 2027. On the same show, he expressed confidence in Colorado’s athletic director, Rick George, to “get something done to keep me here so that we can bring this wonderful city a national championship.” Plus, Deion’s recruiting game is on fire. He’s pulling in top-tier talent like 5-star QB Julian Lewis and 4-star monsters like Cam Warde and London Merritt. These kids ain’t coming to Boulder for the weather or whatnot—they’re here for Coach Prime. Make no mistake on that.

Now, don’t get it twisted. Deion’s ultimate dream is to coach Shedeur in the NFL; he’s been vocal about that. But right now? Boulder is home. And the idea of bailing on these recruits just doesn’t sit right. The man’s building a legacy in Colorado, and leaving would be like ghosting a first date after they order dessert. As for Shedeur, the Giants seem like the perfect fit. Their QB room is a hot mess—Daniel Jones threw more picks than touchdowns, and Tim Boyle isn’t the answer. The Raiders? They’ve got rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who’s balling out, and adding Shedeur would feed families in Vegas. The Sanders-Raiders connection runs deep, but if Shedeur heads there, it’ll be a solo act.

Deion wrapped up his chat with a classic dad moment. “I’m not going to let something take advantage of you. That’s what a daddy is. I’m here to protect you and guide you and lead you. I got you, man.” It’s clear the Sanders duo is inseparable since high-school, but the NFL package deal? That’s not happening—at least not this season. For now, Deion’s got his eyes on a national title, and Shedeur’s got the league on lock.
