Is Deion Sanders' truce with CBS a smart move, or a sign of weakness in the heat of battle?

Remember that time when Deion Sanders kicked CBS Sports to the curb during his media speech on August 9? He had said, “I’m not doing nothing with CBS. You are what you are. CBS is CBS. What they did was foul” despite the reporter being a local. While the reason for the snub isn’t clear, many analysts have come up with their perceptions including Stephen A. Smith who feels the snub comes from a prior contract dilemma with CBS Sports in the past.

But fast forward to the Colorado vs CSU showdown, Deion Sanders seems to have buried the hatchet as he appeared in interviews with the sports media outlet. After all, this particular Rocky Mountain Showdown is prominent because it marks the first time their rivalry game has been played in Fort Collins since 1996. So, Deion Sanders couldn’t miss this opportunity to speak on behalf of the Buffs.

In a new X post by CBS Sports College Football on September 14, Deion Sanders met with CBS Sports reporter Tiffany Blackmon to address how the Buffs are handling the emotions of their rivalry game with CSU. He said, “They don’t wanna lose control of the obvious… Don’t let it get too much in your head that you do something crazy.”

Deion Sanders also took the time to speak to CBS Sports during the Rocky Mountain Showdown halftime as the Buffs led 14-3. Unable to conceal his pride for his team, the Buffs HC said, “I’m so darn proud of the offensive line, the defensive line, and Buff Nation as well.” CBS Sports is covering the game between Colorado and CSU so this unexpected turnaround for Deion Sanders who was adamant on not having anything to do with CBS Sports one month ago isn’t surprising because opinions have to go out, right?

The first quarter was a scare for the Colorado Buffaloes when they failed to score any points as opposed to the Rams’ 3-point field goal. But they made a strong comeback in the second quarter when Shedeur Sanders connected with LaJohntay Wester to score a 4-yard passing TD. With less than one minute remaining, the Buffs signal caller secured another 34-yard TD with Wester bringing the halftime scoreboard to 14-3.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Deion Sanders' truce with CBS a smart move, or a sign of weakness in the heat of battle?

Have an interesting take?

Shedeur Sanders completed 20 of 27 passes in the first half with 167 yards and two touchdowns. The offensive line didn’t allow any sacks in contrast to the six sacks at Nebraska. Perhaps this is Shedeur’s way of paying back the CSU fans for their horrendous welcome at Canvas Stadium. Still, there is still the second half to go and anything could happen.
