Deion Sanders' reaction to Hunter's dance—Is this the kind of team spirit we need more of?

You know you are in love when a girl asks you to bust some moves with her in weird costumes and you happily oblige. The 2024 season is supposed to be the year of redemption for Deion Sanders and the Buffs. There is also major hype around Deion’s 2-way star as well. Travis Hunter has put on some weight and is stronger than before. He also surprised his fans back on July 18th when he and his fiances’ wedding dates were kind of leaked on one of their close friend’s Instagram stories. Some major things are waiting for Hunter in the future. The NFL draft, the wedding on May 24th, 2025, and the 2024 season. For now, other than practice, looks like Hunter’s second favorite pastime would be dressing up in animal onesies.

Back on August 18th, Hunter posted a cute video on his Instagram. He and his fiance Leanna Lenee were seen dancing in animal onesies and pajamas. However, while the video was funny, Coach Prime was not having it. Deion Sanders took to the comment section and wrote, “I’m getting y’all Tested Tomorrow!”. Come on, Deion, this ain’t even the first time Hunter has dropped some moves in cute onesies. Back on June 30th, Hunter posted another reel on his IG where he was dancing in a seagull, unicorn, and penguin onesies. If you showed this video to a person who’s oblivious to the world of college football and told them that this kid is probably going to win the Heisman and is the best college football player right now, they will not believe you. Hunter has always had an infectious personality.

In August, we saw him and Shilo Sanders copy Deion’s throwback moves and bust them on the field during a practice session. Deion took to his Instagram and posted the video, playfully writing, “What’s wrong with @db3_tip & @shilosanders?”. It ain’t no wonder why Bill Landis and Doug Lesmerises called Hunter the face of Colorado in 2024. While he has an amazing personality, when he has the gold and black on and is running on the field, he is a different kind of monster.

A different breed

Former NCAA DB Ray G had the perfect explanation regarding what makes Travis Hunter a different breed. 60 tackles were recorded in total last season, out of which 30 were solo and 30 were assisted. While playing as a WR, Hunter has complete control over the field. Ray G noted that Hunter’s skill on the offense shows a lot of promise which can easily land him a top NFL draft pick. However, it’s the defense he needs to work on. “Hunter isn’t quite as polished defensively as a cornerback,” was something NFL Analyst Daniel Jeremiah had noted in his scouting report of Travis Hunter. Even Ray G had echoed the same emotion regarding Hunter as a CB. “You can just tell watching the tape he’s still young, trying to learn that position,” Ray had said.

Have an interesting take?

If that little aspect is fixed, then there is no stopping the kid. He has every sign of becoming the next top wideout in the NCAA. Back when we saw him catch 11 balls during the Buffs opener in 2023, that alone was enough to convince us that this kid has a bright future. With the changes to the entire o-line and the inclusion of multiple guys from the NFL onto the team’s staff, Deion Sanders has made sure that the boys are ready for anything this year. We might see Hunter pulling some solid runs.
