Can Deion Sanders lead Colorado to a Big 12 championship, or will distractions derail their journey?

We’re just a few weeks away from reaching the trail of a chaotic college football season. Well, when we say chaotic, it’s for a reason. This year, for the first time in recent history, we struggle to see a clear runway champion as every team had their lull in some way or the other. But when it comes to Colorado, the hope is high. While the destination is still far, their odds are improving, you see. After having a bad day against Kansas State, Deion Sanders and his team are turning the tides for the better. Travis Hunter couldn’t contribute much to the Buffs’ Arizona Wildcats’ dominance, but he balanced it out in a blockbuster performance against Cincinnati. The game against Texas Tech only proved they are here for the long haul. Now, Andy Staples set the bar higher for Coach Prime in a bombshell claim.

‘Colorado just keeps winning. If they keep winning, they’re going to get in unless you had that disaster potential for the Big 12 with Boise State and the army, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. So., like if you’re Colorado, you are playing better than anybody in the Big 12 right now. You’ve just got to win your next three games and then win the Big 12 championship game and I don’t think that’s a far-fetched possibility at all,’‘ said On3 analyst Andy Staples.

After two costly losses early in the season, the Buffs have zero room for error to hit the bulls-eyes. However, the only serious competition they will get is from BYU Cougars. The Cougars and Buffaloes both racked up a win after trailing by double-digits last weekend. Their red-hot comeback instantly put them atop of the Big 12 standings, with three weeks left on their card. But for the Buffs, it’s unlikely for them to miss out on the wild chances. ”They’re going to be favored in their next three regular-season games. Like I said, they are playing better than anybody in the Big 12 at the moment,” said the analyst.

However, the Big 12 committee picked BYU as the favorite. Big 12 commissioner Bret Yormark believes the Cougars deserve more than they get. But then the ON3 analyst dished a subtle spurn to the Cougars. it’s probably them and BYU’s one-shot deal in Jerry World. Hopefully, the sun won’t shine anybody’s eyes and the winner goes,” said Andy.

But despite all the hype, Deion Sanders must proceed with caution.

Deion Sanders needs to keep his focus unhampered by the outside noise

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum has quite the same take on the rising Buffaloes. He believes that the Buffs can very well beat the Cougars to take the prize. But he pinpoints the danger in their path. Since Deion Sanders’ heightened exposure brings a lot of eyeballs to the Buffs’ squad. While most of them are encouraging, there have always been some controversies swirling around the Buff’s squad.

Coach Prime’s Colorado walk-out speculation has been on a high in recent times. Rumors suggested that the veteran coach is very likely to go back to his NFL home, Dallas Cowboys. However, Sanders wiped it out with just one sentence response.

When Sanders’ former Cowboys teammate Michael Irvin asked him about the trending notion, coach Prime lifted his laptop and walked to the window to show the background of his office, stared at the beautiful Folsom Field, and said, ”I love it where I am.” But the ESPN analyst would still like to alert him about the outside distractions since the path ahead demands his undivided attention. If he can take care of that, posing with a trophy might just be a matter of time for the Buffs.
