The chatter around Deion Sanders and the Cowboys is getting louder. The Buffs coach has impressed with the turnaround this season and the Boulder outfit sits with an 8-3 record in the Big 12. The rumors linking Sanders to the Dallas franchise even led to Jerry Jones addressing the situation, despite having assured that there wouldn’t be any changes in the HC role for the time being. Yet, there remains enthusiasm to see Sanders at the Cowboys and even his biggest critic has come out and suggested that Jones should go for Coach Prime.
Sanders has said that he is happy in Colorado. Happy with what he has got and the job he has done. Despite this, we saw former Cowboy Michael Irvin heavily tout him for the HC role at the AT&T Stadium, even suggesting that he would “100%” take the job if the Cowboys pick his son, Shedeur, in the draft next year. And this pairing has got Jason Whitlock thinking that it will be a great fit for Dallas.
Talking on his YouTube channel, Whitlock praised Sanders, before pondering, “Am I crazy for thinking Deion would be a great fit for the Cowboys?” Having tried his luck with Dak Prescott as a top franchise QB and Mike McCarthy as head coach, Jones may be tempted to shake things a little, given that the results haven’t been desirable and that is what Whitlock believes he should do.

Is it time for the Cowboys to ditch Dak Prescott and embrace the Sanders revolution?

Now if that wasn’t enough, Jones has already lost his QB for the season because of a hamstring injury. This added to the entire dumpster fire that started because Jones failed to bring in Derrick Henry; it’s clear that the Dallas Cowboys need a change.
As for Mike McCarthy, he is in a more precarious position. With a 3-7 record and post-season hopes all but over, a change could be due next season. And this time, Jones could ill afford to get it wrong.
Deion Sanders has improved the Colorado program by leaps and bounds and the team remains in contention for the Big 12 championship game. Despite the surprise loss to Kansas Jayhawks, Coach Prime’s stock remains high.
In the center of it all is Shedeur. Despite those three losses, this guy is still one of the best QBs out there in college football. With around 3400+ yards under his belt and a total of 30 TDs collected, he managed to bring the Buffs back into the game when they were just about to lose to Baylor.
While this entire Cowboys-Deion Sanders debate is going to continue to run wild, there is another team that could end up becoming a potential destination for Sanders.
Running with the Giants
Although unexpected, the NY Giants have also turned into a potential destination for Coach Prime and Shedeur. Mostly Shedeur. See, way back in July, Pro Football Network released a mock draft list where they placed Shedeur as the first draft pick for the Giants.

Now, naturally, people had their doubts. However, with how this season has turned out, Shedeur has become a game-changer. And as James Fragoza had mentioned; “Sanders is one of the best QB prospects.”
So, the question now is, why are we not talking more about the Giants and the potential pick? Here is the thing: Deion Sanders has been very vocal about pulling an Eli Manning if he ever finds his sons on a team where they won’t have any good growth.
Deion and the Giants don’t have a good past. As Doug Rush pointed out, “The Giants wanted Deion to take a written test…. Deion tells the Giants that he’ll be long gone before they’re picking, so he didn’t have time for the test and them.” This was a prophecy that came true as Coach Prime went as the 5th overall pick for the Falcons and the Giants were stuck with the 18th spot.

This kind of makes the Shedeur-Giants’ future a bit vague. Still, you never know. If the offer is good enough, Coach Prime might consider it and who knows we might see the father-son duo turn up at the MetLife Stadium.
