Deion Sanders is in a jolly mood after winning the last Rocky Mountain Showdown against CSU. This game became a personal one since last season after Jay Norvell’s sunglass dig. So, it’s not so surprising that he allowed his happiness to reflect on someone else with special needs while rubbing salt on CSU’s wounds.

During his press conference, Deion Sanders received a pleasant surprise from a special girl Piper. As his post indicates, he has known her since June from his Aflac partnership with Children’s Hospital. To respond to the surprise, he also gave a major treat to the young girl by turning her into a coach for the Week 4 game!

Tagging Aflac Duck on Instagram on September 18, the Buffs HC posted a heartfelt message to complement the photo of him and Piper rocking the Coach Prime cap, glasses, and chains. The young and bubbly Buffs fan then received a special surprise from Deion Sanders who revealed that she’ll “serve as our Aflac Supplemental Coach of the Game this Saturday, just in time for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!

Deion Sanders is an integral figure of the Aflac Duck that aims to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer. And co-incidentally, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month which falls into both their favors as Piper stealing the spotlight now would garner more attention and raise awareness among those who follow Deion Sanders and Colorado. But the moment leading up to this appointment is noteworthy.

This special announcement came after Deion Sanders made a playful dig at Jay Norvell when he said, “Put your shades on, baby. They hate when we do that. Oh, that was last week.” What he did was throw shade at Jay Norvell and Colorado State after their 28-9 victory. Deion Sanders took to heart the shade that Norvell threw on him last season regarding sunglasses.

The win also gave more satisfaction and confidence for Colorado who were victims of CSU’s negative remarks and inappropriate gestures. QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi taunted them even before the game saying they’ll be keeping an eye on how far social media will take them. The Rams QB even flashed Travis Hunter a “too small” gesture during the game. Like his father’s post game dig, Shedeur Sanders also had the last laugh when he refused to shake hands with the QB who was trolling them. But better flex while the times are good. After all, they’ll be meeting again for the Rocky Mountain Showdown only in 2029.
