After much deliberation, it appears the Deion Sanders-led hype train up in Colorado isn’t halting just yet. Interest from the NFL in hiring Deion was simmering for a while. However, he’s indeed going to continue his undertaking in Boulder with the Buffaloes. This proverbial train has seen two passengers with close ties to Conductor Sanders get off, though. This spawns a potentially odd dynamic and a fascinating conundrum. “How does Deion Sanders coach without his sons?” The CFB sphere has done what it does best- hypothesize. Now, the man himself has answered this question that was piquing everybody’s curiosity.
The time has come for brothers Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders to leave the nest, spread their wings and fly. 2025 shall mark the first season of his entire coaching career that Deion Sanders will not have his sons on his team. Likewise, it’ll also be Shedeur and Shilo’s first as players without Dad doubling as Coach Prime. But that’s a whole different can of worms. Sticking to the Deion side of this equation, It’s going to be a litmus test of just how good a coach he really is. Now that he’s under more “regular” circumstances- as if that’s ever the case with this enigma.
During his spring presser, Prime was confronted with “How he’s adjusting to coaching football without-” before he cut the reporter right there and responded. Knowing what the remainder of his question was about to be. Almost as if he wanted to set the record straight. “I love it!” remarked Deion Sanders. “I love it because I only have to wear one hat, and you don’t understand how much I appreciate that,” This perspective makes a lot of sense. Having your sons directly under your tutelage can be extra motivational. But conversely, it can also be extra stressful. Everything, good or bad, just gets accentuated. Deion proceeded to expand on what shedding this extra layer of responsibility allows him to do.

“You coach your b*tt off. But naturally, you’re making sure your kids are right simultaneously. You know, I’ve adopted kids on this team that I love to life. I’m watching them as well. But it’s nothing like your two biological kids.” he proclaimed. This sincerity from Deion Sanders ought to be appreciated by both his proponents and his skeptics. “You can’t help but focus on those young men and seeing how they’re doing. So it’s different for me. I’m sure it’s different for them, but I’m loving the process. I truly am.” he continued.
Alas, if he’s ever yearning to see his kids, it’s not like Deion doesn’t have the means for it. Hopping on a private jet across the country, the eccentric Prime can actually pull off. He’s probably got a bank balance that reads more like a phone number. But more importantly, he’s got all the time in the world for his sons. With all due respect, Shilo’s departure may not show up too prominently on the field. However, losing Shedeur means Deion will really have to adapt his modus operandi. It’ll be just as fascinating to see how Deion deals with being without his sons as it was when he had them. But the doting father that he is, Deion will always have half a mind on what’s transpiring with the pair. As the brothers prepare for Pro Day, Deion Sanders will be glad to see the latest pertaining to Shedeur.

Deion Sanders receives some welcome news about Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders has been flirting with the NY Giants for a hot minute. He publicized linking up with WR1 Malik Nabers in the Big Apple before the Heisman ceremony. Then, he wore cleats clad in Giants colors at the Alamo Bowl. There’s been a quiet confidence exuded by his demeanor throughout the draft process that signals he’s headed to New York with the 3rd pick. Or higher if they trade up to grab him with reassurance. The franchise appears to reciprocate this affection, too. After all, those daps between Shedeur and HC Brian Daboll during the Flag Football exhibition on Super Bowl weekend were extra crisp!
FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt has probably seen Shedeur Sanders more intricately than any draftnik or analyst around. The Colorado alum broadcasted a majority of their games over the past two seasons. More importantly, the CFB savant that he is, Klatt brings a perspective to the draft process that the NFL lens cannot. Joel Klatt reiterated multiple times that he believes Shedeur Sanders is the best QB prospect in this draft class. Better than Cam Ward, the consensus QB1. So, while he pays heed to the NFL’s assessment and has Cam going #1 overall to the Titans in his latest mock draft, Klatt believes the Giants will grab Shedeur at #3. This comes after Shedeur was sliding down a bunch of boards and projections. Joel Klatt relayed the full extent of his mock over his namesake YouTube channel.

HC Daboll is firmly in sink-or-swim territory. After making the playoffs with Daniel Jones in year 1, things have spiraled out. The epitome of his and the front office’s missteps was to award Jones with a huge payday over Saquon Barkley. They let Saquon walk in favor of keeping what they thought was their franchise QB. Hindsight is 20/20, but what transpired is an unmitigated disaster. Saquon won a ring and had one of the greatest running back seasons ever. Meanwhile, Daniel Jones got cut shortly after, owing to a string of poor performances.

Firmly on the hot seat, Daboll needs a QB. Pronto. If Cam Ward is off the board when their turn comes around, expect Shedeur Sanders to be very much in the reckoning. The Giants not diving into the QB market in free agency is a tell-tale sign of where they’re headed. Shedeur may get that flirtation to turn into a relationship after all. As for Deion Sanders, he’d hope his program doesn’t have to miss its superstar signal caller too much as they step into a new era.
