Another day, another drama. CFB world could sense that something big would be cooking during the Georgia vs Texas face-off. But hardly did they imagine that Longhorns fans would spin the little chaos into a ruckus roulette. But more than the fans, the Georgia great David Pollack is upset at such a sensitive issue going unaddressed. And whom did Pollack strip off? Had to be the College GameDay hosts Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit. Was he genuinely concerned about the controversy not getting due attention or was it sheer revenge after getting fired by ESPN?
Things were going normal on Saturday night until a questionable pass interference penalty during the third quarter of Texas’ game against Georgia resulted in fans’ fury at Darrell K. Royal Stadium. “Wow I have never seen that in my life. The fans threw bottles on the field and the refs literally changed their call. That is such horse c–p man. That’s one of the worst ways of handling a situation I have seen,” immediately tweeted Pollack.

Besides the ref’s foul call, Pollack has also been upset about how the commentators chose silence instead of pointing out the real issue, he stated “Can’t believe they ain’t talking about that in the booth.” But what’s the hoopla all about? The men in action were Georgia QB Carson Beck who threw a comeback route to the left side of the field only to be picked off by cornerback Jahdae Barron who came off as a pass interference by refs.
But later while reviewing it was found out that they were just hand-fighting. Shortly after the refs announced the questionable penalty, fans shifted to a full-on rage mode launching beer cans, water bottles, and anything they could get their hands on. After taking time for clean-up the refs came out calling off the pass interference penalty. It was pretty clear that they gave in to pressure. Sadly, no one other than Pollack addressed it. But why is it that the analyst got angry with the College GameDay hosts? Maybe it’s just spiraled out of some old grievance.

David Pollack ‘No Hard Feelings’ got a new narrative
The three-time first-team All-American fr Georgia, it did not take much time for Pollack to try new avenues other than the sport. He got into an exciting role as the College GameDay analyst. But his stint as an analyst for thirteen long years got stunted when on June 30, 2023, he got laid off by ESPN. Poor Pollack! He fell prey to cost-cutting moves and was among the 20 unlucky notable on-air personalities to lose his job.
The ex-Georgia linebacker was part of the famous trio known for their passion and knowledge of the game featuring Gene Wojciechowski and Chris Fallica who all ended their time at the same time. Recently in an interview on the UNPACKIN’ it podcast, Pollack confirmed that he no longer hoards any hard feelings for ESPN.

“I didn’t have any bitterness…I was underqualified to do the things that I got to do. I felt very fortunate,” commented the ex-ESPN host. But here we are back at it again. Years later, David Pollack got the golden chance to release his pent-up emotions on the new hosts.
