Ole Miss is walking on eggshells. One wrong step, and they will be gone for good. One of the most exciting matchups of week 13 will emanate from the Swamp this weekend. Fans have already tightened their belts for the topsy-turvy moments of such a high-voltage game. But did Lane Kiffin do the same? Are Ole Miss’ ready to prove their caliber once again? These are the questions that are looming. While you could be only at a fool’s paradise, making some solid predictions amidst the volatile CFB trend, you can simply run through some points that negated Rebels’ chance to some extent.

The Florida Gators have been through the wringer this season. They stumbled with three losses in a row, which pretty much dashed their playoff hopes. But hey, Billy Napier managed to get DJ Lagway back on track after his injury. The team bounced back against the LSU Tigers last week to revive their bowl eligibility at least. No matter how vehemently you would back the Rebels’ potential, the reality is their fate hangs in the balance. Factors that can become the kiss of death trap for Lane Kiffin and crew, ESPN College football host Race Davis noted, ”They go in against a Florida team that has DJ Lagway playing on a hamstring with an apparatus. Our great sideline reporter, Taylor McGregor, detailed that to me last week. This apparatus they have serves as another muscle to try to allow the Lagway to stay in the game, and it did in their victory against the LSU noon game swamp.”

Lagway will be a factor for the Rebels. Coach Kiffin has seen how one man’s arrival can breathe air into the entire lineup, and all of a sudden Florida is back to their usual. This is the power Lagway holds over the Gators. Even Kiffin confessed that he had seen no other team do this ever in the past other than the Rebels. If Lagway continues to be on his rebounded momentum while enhancing the mental strength of his teammates, it will be quite a challenge for Kiffin to make room in the Gators’ home finale.

‘It’s going to be a noon game. It’s gonna be humidity. Everything is gonna be going to Florida,’‘ Pete Thammel added another pointer against the Rebels while wholeheartedly agreeing to the crucial DJ Lagway and the LSU comeback win factor.

Lane Kiffin, however, on the flip, is not going to counter the peril they have on the road ahead with a smug mindset.

Lane Kiffin denied the SEC title game if he had a choice

Kiffin undermined the SEC title game big time. The Rebels HC has widely been known for being blunt and straight with his takes. He doesn’t like to mince his words. That trademark trait, once again, was on the play this week when he nonchalantly said that he and his fellow coaches would not vouch for the SEC championship game in Atlanta next month if they had a choice.

The visionary veteran understood the chaotic math pretty well. A slip in that game can kick out any team from the college football playoff contention once and for all. You might deem it a low confidence syndrome, but those who understand football know that it is raw wisdom. Because for a team that has already suffered two losses, it won’t be a cakewalk to clinch a win at the SEC, and the last option is pretty disgraceful. There is no in-between.
