They say a difficult chapter will close, making way for a fresh beginning, but in the case of quarterback Carson Beck, the difficult phase does not seem to end. Interceptions, sacks, incomplete passes- every thing that a QB needs to avoid, the Georgia star has managed to do, and in plenty. The interceptions are double-digit, and TDs have been hard to come by. Usually, teams look to have that in the opposite order. A potential first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft is looking at an uncertain future. The 10-28 loss to Ole Miss Rebels, where the offense had a bad outing, didn’t help either. Naturally, media analysts are discussing his NFL future and whether the Bulldogs may have jeopardized it.
Chad Reuter, an NFL analyst, shared his top 400 prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft. The strange thing is that once a top prospect, Carson Beck is nowhere among the top payers; in fact, he barely cracks the top 100. Yes! That is the truth. Let’s take a look at his stats this season. The QB has thrown 2,488 yards and scored 17 touchdowns. Hold on! Add 12 interceptions to it. For your information, he is leading the interceptions this season. And it is the only reason why the experts and the analysts are mad at him. However, he has completed 65.4% of his passes.

Moving forward, let’s discuss how Georgia’s overall performance is putting Beck’s future in danger. Although they have performed well this season, they are also in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. On 12th November, analyst Greg McElroy posted an entire article about the Bulldogs’ fall in 2024, and he clearly highlighted that Beck is not the only guy we should blame: “Their problems extend far beyond Carson Beck. Okay, they don’t have a true number-one wide receiver. They lead the nation in drops. Their two best true wide receivers were kicked off the team earlier this year.”

That’s not an ideal situation for a quarterback. Imagine removing Ryan Willaims from Jalen Milroe’s arsenal or making Will Howard play without Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka. That is the situation here. Every QB needs quality players. It’s not about catching passes; it’s also about running efficient routes, creating lanes, blocking for others, and it seems like the Bulldogs have it for one week, and the very next week, everything goes haywire. Beck’s head coach is the best person to evaluate him, and let’s hear where he stands amid all this turmoil.
Kirby Smart is not benching Carson Beck
We know many expected a lot from Carson Beck this season; however, he has not met the Heisman expectations and disappointed many. His back-to-back poor performance has led people to suggest that Smart should give backup Gunner Stockton a chance. Great suggestion, but will Smart buy it?

What did Smart say about benching Beck? “Absolutely not.” Moving forward, the competition is getting intense, but it looks like Smart has his plans ready. In the coming week, the Bulldogs will play against Tennessee, and Smart believes in his QB1: “We’ve got a quarterback who’s completely competent, capable, and understanding of our system that gives us the best chance to win.” Smart has been defending Beck for the past few weeks. Come on, man! It is high time you take some action.
What’s your perspective on:
Are the Georgia Bulldogs failing Carson Beck, or is he the one letting the team down?

The O-Line needs some improvements; however, commenting on their plus point, Smart said, “Well, we’ve played really good defenses.” In the last game, we saw Beck struggling, but the O-line could not keep him safe in the pocket. That needs to change against a strong Vols defense if the Bulldogs want to have any chance to be in the playoffs.
