Colorado fans, breathe easy—at least for now. The future of Deion Sanders who likes the moniker Coach Prime in Boulder has been a hot topic, with swirling rumors about him potentially making a return to his alma mater, FSU. This rumor has been coming around every year in Colorado like Christmas, the only difference it’s not fun for the Buffs. But the athletic director Rick George said enough is enough.
Yes, he was a student-athlete for the Seminoles from 1985 to 1988. Yes, he was a three-sport gem in gridiron, baseball, and track. But so, what, Rick George cries on the B&G Brothas Podcast, leave my coach alone! George’s words might just calm a few restless hearts in the Rocky Mountains, hinting that Coach Prime isn’t itching to leave Boulder anytime soon. “Why not Colorado?” George started, touching on the unique appeal that Boulder holds for Sanders. He says Coach Pime is not just emotionally bonded by the place as he just loves everything about Colorado. The people, the weather, etc. But is it enough for him to stay?

Mr. director claims more. But beyond that, George painted an intriguing picture: a vision of Sanders staying at Colorado long enough to bring home a national championship. “If I’m Coach Prime, here’s what I would say: I can be the first Black head coach to win a National Championship at Colorado,” the passionate AD added. With confidence in the Buffs’ recruiting, he pointed to the team’s upward trajectory. “We have the opportunity to win next year if not this year,” George said, clearly optimistic about the program’s potential.
This isn’t just hype; Colorado has transformed under Sanders, from filling stadiums to securing top-tier recruits from across the country. He has faith they have what it takes to keep him here. This talent infusion, especially from the Southeast has made them bowl-eligible this season.

However, with Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter standing on the doors of the potential 2025 NFL draft, they are bound to lose their two Heisman duo. And one of them is his son, and the other is like an adopted one. The Buffs fabs surely have their hearts in their mouth this time around.
What will be Deion Sanders move and when did FSU come into the picture
No one can see the future, but who said you can’t predict one? At, present FSU’s head coach is Mike Norvell. Who as we speak are struggling to regain any semblance of respectability. They have 1-8 overall which means Deion Sanders might think to save their day, as Norvell struggles. But he is the hero in Boulder too. So it still stays a case of ‘might’.

As we mentioned this is an old song. It started in 2020 when he was a contender for the Florida State head coach role, but the job eventually went to Norvell. Despite not getting the job, Sanders was not fazed. He said, “I knocked it out of the park,” referring to his interview with FSU, but added, “God didn’t see fit for me to have that.”
For now, Coach Prime is focused on taking the Buffs to the Conference finals and if possible, the Playoffs. But as we’ve seen throughout his career, predicting Deion Sanders’ next move is never straightforward. Hence, we gotta stay tuned ladies and gents.
