You can hate Deion Sanders as much as you want, but you cannot deny the fact that out of all the boring coaches out there, Coach Prime stands on top of his persona and style. The Buffs are on a solid run this year and after the Knights game, Deion Sanders solidified the fact that his boys ain’t less than the big dogs. Coming off of a 48-21 win against UCF, Coach Prime is all set to make his team the No.1 on the Big 12 list. So, when are we getting footage of the practice and stuff? Wait, Deion is putting fashion ahead of football passion?
Yeah, on October 4th Coach Prime took to his Instagram to share his latest partnership with DoorDash. This new “Fan Coaching Staff” started by DoorDash would allow fans to ask for advice from their favorite coaches. So, Deion is now on that boat and when a fan asks “what to wear on gameday”, Coach Prime has the perfect answer. “Football is all about swagger. You gotta wear something comfortable, but sharp,” Deion mentioned.

This whole thing is hilarious because it directly feeds into the entire “playing for clicks” narrative that was first coined by Ducks HC Dan Lanning. Way back, Andy Staples from On3 had talked about this and had noted that everybody “wants to beat the cr–“ out of the Buffs because of the reputation Deion has created with the entire “Prime Time” persona.
Well, we don’t want to advocate for anyone, but after the games against the Rams, Bears, and Knights, Coach Prime has already proved that he can do both: pull off a swag outfit while also nailing the play-calling and coaching. But there is one thing we gotta talk about. You see, Dan Lanning ain’t the only one who had called Deion’s team “playing for clicks”.
When Cormani McClain hit the transfer portal, he mentioned, “I just don’t want to play for clicks. I actually want to be involved with a great leading program.” This was a small dig at Coach Prime and the Buffs. However, karma can be a pain. After getting benched by the Gators, McClain is coming back crawling.

The curious case of Cormani McClain

“You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me”. If we were Deion Sanders’ staff or something, then this would be the line we would ask him to say to McClain. After Gators HC Billy Napier noted that McClain was “too small” and benched him, Cormani has been constantly on the news trying to show that he made a big mistake leaving the Buffs.
When the Colorado-UCF game happened, McClain was there, sitting with the audience and watching the game. That ain’t all. Just a few days before, on September 23rd, Cormani took to his Instagram account and shared a picture of him in a black t-shirt. It had No.1 written on the back in gold.

Buffs were the only team that gave McClain the No.1 jersey, and it looks like this guy wants it back. While there is no news from Deion’s end about whether he wants to take back McClain or not, what we can say is that sometimes people realize their mistakes too late.
