Did Billy Napier finally realize his mistake, or is this just a desperate move for the Gators?

Is this Billy Napier’s comeback time or is this damage control by the Gators HC? Cormani McClain was benched for almost half of the season for the Gators. Why, you may ask? Well, Napier thought Cormani McClain was “too small”. This started a wild goose chase on the internet with McClain constantly throwing hints that he wanted out of the Gators and to return home to Coach Prime. But guess what happened when Florida went up against Kentucky?

Yeah, McClain was on that turf. Now, back on Instagram, McClain’s mother Dìamond Kaìshaÿ posted a clip of her son post-game. “Patience and God’s timing ♥️” Kaìshaÿ wrote in the caption of her post. Putting Cormani back on that turf has to be the best decision Napier has made all season. Now you might ask why. Well, this 4-star player went from being a forgotten walk-on to creating one of the most memorable moments in Gators football this season.

With barely 4 minutes left on the clock, McClain made his career first interception on that turf. He managed to sweep in and pick off Wildcats QB Cutter Boley. The best part about that interception was the fact that Cormani was able to take back the football by 25 yards. This move allowed the Gators to power through the rest of the game and end with 48-20 on the scoreboard.

This has to be one of the best games the Gators have showcased this year and the credit goes to Napier, finally realizing his mistakes. It makes you wonder why the HC waited so long to use Cormani on that turf. Regardless, this was a win Napier and Co. needed badly.

While Cormani managed to add the chef’s kiss to that game, the problem now is that Napier is heading toward some teams that could easily dismantle the entirety of Gators with one hand tied behind their backs. So, can they pull through?

Billy Napier against the Dawgs and the Horns

What’s your perspective on:

Did Billy Napier finally realize his mistake, or is this just a desperate move for the Gators?

Have an interesting take?

Listen, last weekend, the Dawgs did something that every team is dreaming of; slowly picked off the best team in the SEC, the Longhorns. Kirby Smart and his boys had one of the greatest games of all season and his offense and defense showed why they are the best on the board. With barely allowing QB Quinn Ewers to make any plays on that turf, the Bulldogs had Steve Sarkisian’s dream roster in a chokehold.

Bulldogs’ rush game just couldn’t be stopped by the Texan defense and Trevor Etienne had the time of his life with 3 touchdowns and 87 yards under his belt. Now, see, the Napier’s next big game is against this same team and frankly, there is no way they are coming out of it with a win.

While the Gators’ defense did perform exceptionally against the Wildcats, there is no way they can stop an elite QB like Carson Beck. Dude is averaging almost 300 yards in every game. If the Longhorns couldn’t cut it, then there is almost no team left on that board who can.
