Colorado Buffaloes transfer Cormani McClain might be unlucky when it comes to his professional life. But his personal hype squad can easily make anyone jealous. Out of all, McClain’s mother, Kaishay, is his biggest cheerleader who recently gave her son a shout-out. The cornerback has been going through a rough patch ever since he hopped onto the Florida Gators’ wagon. So much so that he now got a new tag, “locker-room cancer” and had no game appearance under HC Billy Napier. However, McClain, being McClain, changed his outlook towards life. Instead, thought of doing something special for himself and the community. Seems like the cornerback is a lot more into spirituality nowadays. At least, his Instagram story from a few days back said so.
There was a time when McClain hitting the transfer portal had been one of the most dramatic chapters in the Buffs’ history. While the CB has been thrown under the bus for his “playing for clicks” comment about Deion Sanders and Co., he maintained his ‘best kid’ status to his mother. Maybe, she too like McClain hoped for a better future outside Boulder. But soon reality came knocking with even Napier’s Gators turning out to be a flop. However, this did not stop the loving mother from rooting for his son. On September 19, Kaishay tweeted, “Good job son.”

So what did McClain do that made his mother come with a five-star review? While things are going off for the CB on the athletic front, he thought of doing something for the next-gen. Well, he knew just one session with the kids would be enough to boost his spirits. On September 19, he posted two pictures.
One showed a bunch of vibrant school kids raising their hands up in the air in excitement. The other had McClain holding a storybook while the tiny ones looked at him all engrossed in his story-telling. The caption read, “Had a Great Time Coming out read books and Doing Q&A’s with Glen Springs Elementary kids. We had a great time Explaining to the kids what’s it’s like being a college athlete! @TheEdFoundation @Fl_Victorious #FVFoundation.” Seems like, McClain is mastering the art of side-stepping life’s setbacks.
Cormani McClain’s quiet warning after getting benched
With two programs failing back-to-back, you can imagine what McClain must be going through. It has not even been a year since he joined Napier’s program but his Gators journey has already been filled with bumps. When GatorsOnline senior writer, Nick de la Torre tried to sneak in with some updates about how things had been going on with McClain in Florida, the analyst got his heartbroken. “I was told that Cormani McClain has been late to most of the requirements (meetings, lift, etc)…” confirmed the writer.

This was enough for the DNVR Sports podcast host to call the CB “locker room cancer” since his “tardiness/immaturity is causing the rest of your team to have to run.” Napier had a close watch on the athlete and came up with a brutal way to teach him a lesson. One move was enough- the HC snubbed him from the lineup during Florida’s first match-up in this season.

It’s obvious that the CB would take offense. However, turns out that Cormani McClain is a staunch believer of ‘Karma hits.’ So 12 days after receiving the cold treatment, he took to Instagram to share a cryptic story, “I am being humble rn, but eventually everybody gotta pay.” Will McClain’s mojo going to show Billy Napier the exit door? That’s some scary stuff.
