Cormani McClain‘s journey with this sport has been like a roller coaster. Starting from Lakeland Senior High School, he stopped at the Colorado Buffaloes before finally landing at the Florida Gators in May 2024. His departure from the Buffs created many headlines because of McClain’s claims about teammates’ misbehavior. Soon after that, everyone predicted the five-star prospect would start for the Gators 2024 season. Disappointingly, before the season started, there were rumors about a lack of discipline in McClain, which led Billy Napier to remove him from the roster.
However, later, Billy Napier put an end to all those rumors by saying, “He’s doing fine. I mean, I think a lot of this gets blown out of proportion.” Soon after that, everyone realized Napier’s words didn’t match his actions, as he kept McClain away from the depth chart for the first few weeks of the 2024 college football season.

A lot has already been said from both sides. Trolls kept calling out McClain for his behavioral issue patterns since the time he was at the Buffs and now that he’s with the Gators. But as per the latest buzz, McClain is not going to be around the Gators anymore for their upcoming season. Neither Napier nor McClain confirmed all that and now McClain has found faith in the almighty. “God gives you strength stronger than any other.”

McClain has been called “too small,” not SEC material,” since the much-hyped-about player joined college football. Although the CB has answered all that with the performance he gave in the three games he played for the Gators. Mcclain hit his first interception on October 19 in the game against Kentucky.

In more detail, Cormani intercepted Cutter Boley’s pass and returned it 25 yards, contributing to the Gators’ 48-20 win over Kentucky. After which even Napier has praised the cornerback. More recently, Kaishay, McClain’s mother, has also shared her thoughts online, writing, “Your gonna have some good days and bad days… Continue to believe in yourself, the team, and your coaches. Better days will come.”
His mother wrote on X. After seeing some action against Kentucky, McClain was standing on the sidelines for all these weeks and he finally got his chance more recently against Texas, where his performance answered all those trolls and haters after dealing with so much hate for months.
