Can Cormani McClain's resilience inspire the Florida Gators to turn their season around?

“If you’re going through hell, keep going”. That’s the same notion the Florida Gators have been following with their ups and downs in the season. Even cornerback Cormani McClain can relate to Florida’s situation and responds similarly to his teammate’s words of wisdom. Let’s see whom he is referring to.

On September 17th, Florida Gators star cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. took to Instagram to share a glimpse of their roller-coaster journey in the ongoing tournament. Combining Florida’s bittersweet journey on a carousel. Jason captioned his post, saying, Control what you can control! Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” But Marshall’s words of wisdom struck a nerve with cornerback Cormani McClain, reflecting his current situation in the game. Cormani couldn’t stop himself from commenting on Jason’s post, saying “RL (Real Life),” as the thought exactly aligns with McClain’s fate in the game.

Cormani McClain’s absence from the game is something that no one has expected. Cormani’s transfer from the Buffs was highly anticipated to change the Florida Gators’ overall defense of the game. But his sudden absence from the matchup is showing something else. However, the effect of McClain not playing for Florida was quite visible in their season-opener match against the Hurricanes. They lost with a high-margin score of 17-41, giving Miami over 500 yards and 41 points. This is the maximum the Gators have given to date in a season opener. Cormani, while not on the field for the games till now, is struggling surely, resonating with the words adversity, failure, and heartache.

 Cormani McClain’s major misfortune

Cormani McClain’s misfortune started with his absence from Florida’s season opener. On August 28, the team released their depth chart for their game against the Hurricanes, and Cormani’s name was missing from the cornerback lineup. Some reports indicated the reason to be his ongoing injuries. But again, Cormani didn’t confirm anything as such. The surprising part is that even head coach Billy Napier is silent about the whole incident. Such decisions can’t come out of thin air.
