Week 1 of the College Football ended on an unpleasant note for the Florida Gators, after a humiliating loss of 17-41 against the Miami Hurricanes in their home state. However, cornerback Cormani McClain‘s suspicious absence in the game also took everyone’s attention. As he was a key backup for the team’s defense, even Cormani didn’t mention anything about his sudden disappearance. Nevertheless, he is now back in the spotlight after a much longer social media pause. Keep reading to find out what update he has to share.
Today Cormani McClain took to Instagram to share a story of him standing in a movie hall wearing a stylish yellow pullover. Well, he is out there for a screening of a popular action/comedy movie called Killer Game. He wrote a caption saying, “Thank you, Lionsgate, for access to the early screening of the Killers Game.” Cormani looked quite excited about the movie as he was posing with a peace sign. McClain’s story finally showed some sign of relief for his fans. He has not been active on any social media platforms since March. Despite this, the question lingers about why he didn’t play for the team last Saturday.

Coming to his absence from the Gators’ game, it looks like something is cooking. Not even his mom, Kaishay, attended his season opener. Given her strong involvement in her son’s professional career, fans were eagerly awaiting any updates on this incident. However, there are also speculations on former Colorado player Cormani dealing with injuries at the University of Florida because of which he isn’t on the depth chart of the team. There is still no confirmation from either side. But looking at his five-star recruitment status at Florida, him not playing raises a lot of eyebrows.

During his time at Colorado under Deion Sanders, he spent most of his time benched. Coach Prime’s coaching methods didn’t work for Cormani, as he wanted him to improve his gameplay. Last season McClain was only involved in 9 games and recorded 13 tackles. Deion Sanders even mentioned that he wasn’t putting in sufficient effort to earn playing time and urged him to improve his preparation.
“I feel like I just don’t want to play for clicks. I actually want to be involved with a great leading program that’s going to develop players,” said Cormani after entering the transfer portal for the 2024 season. McClain joined the Florida Gators as a preferred walk-on after transferring from Colorado during the offseason. Even after getting into the Gators, he has been in and out of practice throughout the fall camp. And now he is also not playing in the current season. Let’s hope he returns for the upcoming matches and displays his exceptional gameplay. What are your thoughts on his absence? Do let us know in the comments!
