Can Coach Prime rally the Buffaloes after this heartbreaking loss and devastating injuries to key players?

Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes faced a tough night yesterday, suffering a narrow 28-31 defeat to Kansas State after a streak of three consecutive victories. The loss was particularly painful not only because of the close score but also due to the injuries the team had to endure throughout the game.

With 2:14 remaining, quarterback Avery Johnson made a comeback in the game with a late interception. With the help of Jayce Brown, he scored a 50-yard touchdown and led No. 18 Kansas State to a 31-28 victory. Wildcast dual-threat finished the game with one rushing touchdown and two passing touchdowns. Not only did Sanders’ two-way star, Travis Hunter, have to leave the field after the second quarter, but his wide receiver, Omarion Miller, also suffered a significant injury. He shared a heartbreaking message about his injury, which put him in a wheelchair, and wrote, “Laid it all on the line #Godsplan.” The player suffered the injury during a 51-yard reception against Kansas State with 13:46 left in the fourth quarter.

The wide receiver entered the game yesterday with only two catches for 7 yards and a touchdown. However, before he left the field because of his injury, he displayed some impressive game by making eight receptions for 145 yards. His performance highlights that he is a reliable option for Sanders when he is all fit.

Last year, Miller appeared in six games and recorded 11 catches for 234 yards and scored only one touchdown. This weekend he left the field after a 51-yard reception and was later seen in a wheelchair, which was not a good sight for Sanders and Buffs fans. The Buffs not only lost the game but also lost three key wide receiver players due to injury. If Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn, or Miller do not return early, it would be a major setback for Colorado’s offense.

Shedeur Sanders shines again despite losing his weapons

Deion Sanders is very lucky to have Shedeur Sanders on his team. When his two-way star Travis Hunter is not out for any reason, Sanders has a player to look up to. Yes, you are right if you are thinking about quarterback Shedeur Sanders. This season, he has played some phenomenal games. It was two weeks ago that his Hail Mary touchdown saved the Buffs from losing against Baylor.

Prior to his bye week against UCF, he threw for 290 yards and scored three crucial touchdowns. Similarly, yesterday he raised his hand again when Buffs needed him the most. Even though the Buffs were not at their best yesterday, Shedeur Sanders made sure he shined.

He threw for 388 yards and scored three touchdowns and one interception. He completed 34 out of 40 passes, which made an average of just 9.7 yards per attempt. He was sacked six times last night, which somehow impacted his rushing game. Athlon Sports reported his statements after the game, where he expressed about his game last night and said, “There were definitely some sacks I shouldn’t have took, some reads that I gotta make.” Sanders added, “I’ll watch the film and see where I can improve because I don’t think anyone ever plays a perfect game and I didn’t play a perfect game.”
