Deion Sanders is a great coach, but an even greater dad. Besides taking the Buffaloes forward with an impressive season, Coach Prime doesn’t ever forget to evaluate his kids on time. No doubt, the 57-year-old veteran isn’t among such dads who hype their children up unnecessarily, adding to their ego.
Rather, the visionary Colorado coach chose to be his kids’ biggest critic to chisel the best out of them. The prodigy has 5 children, among which Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders were the two to be in their father’s scanning 24 hours in the Colorado training camp. Now, they didn’t even find themselves anywhere in a fun kids’ rating game initiated by the daddy cool.

Sanders wants to see his kids compete but forces them to do it in a fun, engaging way. Recently, he started a competition where he gives a shout-out to any of his kids regularly as the Most Valuable one. In the previous weeks, Shelomi and Deiondra got the luck to rise to their fathers’ good book with the tag of most treasured. Today, it’s Deion Sanders Jr’s turn to receive his flower. Sanders shared a series of on-field pictures with his eldest one with the caption, ‘‘This Picture is so AWESOME to me because it embodies who we are and what this is all about! @deionsandersjr is the real SANDERS MVK. Most Valuable Kid. Love you Good ole Good ole. The other pics are just some fly pictures I thought u would like. #CoachPrime.”.

However, the notable thing is that the two standout QBs of Colorado, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders, were so far nowhere on Sanders’ favorite list. Was it just to keep his two gems grounded or a more amazing applause loading in for the Buffs players? Well, the first seems to be the most feasible one.
Shedeur Sanders received a reality check from his father after his impressive game against Baylor
What’s your perspective on:
Is Coach Prime too hard on his sons, or is tough love what they need to succeed?
Have an interesting take?
Shedeur Sanders had a terrific performance against Baylor on September 21st, contributing to the team’s 38-31 win. The young QB has become the instant talking point, throwing for 341 yards, completing 25 of 41, and posting two touchdowns for the Buffs. His surreal last-second Hail Mary to LaJohntay Wester propelled the game to stretch to the overtime and ultimately let the squad walk out with a crucial victory. When the entire CFB was busy appreciating the good game that Shedeur brings to the table, his father cum coach Deion Sanders kept being a healthy nitpicker.

‘‘Shedeur has played great except for one pass. That’s it. He’s been consistently Shedeur except for one pass. Everybody on the team feels that way. I’m pleased with him. I’m critical because I’m a dad as well as a coach.“, the veteran said afterwards, not to let his son’s ego take over a promising momentum.
Despite being harsh with his minute judgment, Sanders wants what’s best for his celebrity son, the highly sought-after in the NFL draft. Coach Prime made it crystal clear that he wouldn’t allow Shedeur to settle for any NFL deal. Rather, he has some top-notch names (Eli Manning, Lavar Ball, LeBron James, etc) who can be the elephant in the room for his son’s brighter NFL future. We will need to see how Sanders’ protective stewardship as a coach and as a father will add to his son, Shilo, and Shedeur’s quintessential football legacy going forward.
